The Democrats have settled upon their 2024 campaign message: “Former President Donald Trump poses a threat to democracy and must be stopped. He has openly admitted he will become a dictator on day one.”

Liberals make these statements about Trump and so-called MAGA Republican “extremists” because they know if they are repeated enough, they will stick. And they’re right. No evidence is required because the Democrats know they will never be called upon to support their claims by their comrades.

Conservatives, on the other hand, are generally well armed with the facts. They need to be because it’s not a level playing field.

Specifically his threats to use government to punish his opposition, but also his inability to accept results of elections. Additionally, inserting an administration who has demonstrated a lack of adherence to the law.

Infrastructure deal

Longest unemployment under 4%

Yes

The last time he lost an election he incited and supported an insurrection to keep himself in office. He is currently facing multiple indictments for his attempts to undermine the outcome of that election.

Why, specifically, do you hate Trump?

I don't hate Trump, but I do believe is not competent and capable of meeting the demands of being President.

Did they hate the robust economy we had before the pandemic?
The economy under Trump was slightly less robust than the economy his predecessor oversaw in the two years before Trump took office. There is no policy or action that Trump took that improved the economy in any measurable way.

The 1.4% inflation rate? The same rate that he inherited when he took office.

Were they unhappy when the United States was energy-independent?
We are more energy independent now than we were under Trump.

When the Trump administration enforced U.S. immigration laws?
There have been more border apprehensions and deportations under Biden than under Trump.

Can you name three accomplishments of the Biden administration?
Were they happy when Biden returned Afghanistan to Taliban rule?
The US withdrawal from Afghanistan and the agreements to empower the Taliban were negotiated by President Trump.

Are they pleased that more than 7 million immigrants have entered the U.S. illegally since he took office?

An over the top estimate. And I wouldn't have in issue with it even if it was accurate. Immigration is net positive for the US.

That 100,000 people die annually from drug overdoses from the fentanyl that flows over our open border?

We do not have an open border, that is a GOP propaganda talking point.
The vast majority (>85%) of fentanyl entering the country from Mexico is brought in by US citizens re-entering the country at official points of entry.

The deficit increased each year under the Trump administration. The deficit decreased two of the three years of Biden's administration. The Trump administration increased the national debt by a significantly larger percentage than the Biden administration.

Post covid inflation is a global issue, and the US has had lower inflation than any comparable country, in most cases by a significant margin. Given Trump's handling of the pandemic, there is no reason to believe that would have been the case under a Trump administration.

Or that mortgage interest rates have doubled?
Heads you win, tails I lose? A bit disingenuous to harangue the Biden administration for inflation and then for an increase in interest rates as a reaction to that inflation.
