.......when discussing movies over dinner his sis-in-law mentions how hot she finds the idea of masked orgies, ideally the Venetian masked style.

He arranges they visit a suitably themed event, which she agrees to knowing she can back away at any point.......but he explains only as they arrive - with her clad in long coat and heels - and only lingerie underneath, as instructed - that they have to appear to be a couple as a condition of entry......

Where can this go helpers ?

A couple close to me married in a Gothic hall on Hallowe'en night in a formal masque. Had they been wilder, a masked orgy could have ensued. Try playing that one out, with strong aphrodisiacs in the drinks and snacks.

I'm not sure what's added by the 'have to appear to be a couple' thing.

SIL would have been expecting that, surely - and probably also that they would be able to split up immediately after arrival.

What's been missed out entirely here is the truly interesting bit (at least from my point of view): how the two of them manage to deceive their spouses such that they have time off for this evening.

To me, just as the thrill of the hunt lies in the chase rather than the kill, the essence of what's erotic in a story often lies in the build-up rather than in the sex itself.

Amen to that... and how very rarely we're offered it, or anything like it.

Excellent.

I agree!

What seems to be missing, as pointed out, is how did they get to that point of going to an orgy together? What sparked the conversation between the two of them to begin with or was it with their partners present, a sort of drunken confession that led the protagonist to thinking and planning? But how did they get together? Did they travel to another city on the pretext of a work trip? is it in the same city?

What if they discover another couple there who seem a bit familiar - their own spouses???

My highlights. Dead right.

You have to sigh when you read most of what passes on Lit. for 'stories'... which is why I've given up doing so. It would be par for the course on here to see a 'story' start:

"Well, this brother-in-law and sister-in-law went to this masked orgy..."

... and then these same 'authors' can apparently get involved in heated debates on threads about why their crap is rated X or Y.

Eye sockets aren't generally built large enough to accommodate that kind of rolling...

The cast: brothers Bob & Dave, neighboring sisters Alice & Carol, and Bob & Dave's bisexual maternal first cousin Evangeline.

The backstory: Bob & Alice were cozy fuckers back in the day, as were Dave & Carol, but the couples that emerged from their nervy courtships are Bob & Carol and Dave & Alice. Each still feels warm for the one they left behind.

The buildup: Evangeline invites Bob & Dave separately to the masked orgy but the brothers don't know the other was also invited and they don't share the info. Alice & Bob (now in-laws) and Carol & Dave (ditto) each have stealthy lunches where the guys tell their ex-lovers of the invitations. Each set of in-laws decides to go, and tells their mate they must be somewhere else by themselves -- plausible excuses, sure.

The action: Disguised party-goers arrive. Besides sex with other masked orgiasts, Evangeline separately mouths Alice & Bob & Carol & Dave (ABCD) to orgasms and rides her cousins' cocks while slurping someone beside them. Bodies shift around, and ABCD are shocked to find themselves fucking their own spouses! Hilarity ensues.

The ending: Have something in mind when you start writing. Visualize either divorces, murders, polyamory, or whatever. Have fun.
