Sinegard Academy for the Wayward

Callo, Gem, and Angus

Callo sort of fell into the room as soon as the wards were gone. Gem and Angus were on the other side of the gelatinous cube. But since they could see through the cube’s body, Gem cast “dimension door” and both Angus and her were also in the room with Callo.

Gem removed the invisibility spell on Angus, Callo and herself. All were now visible.

“Callo check on Ravyn” Gem asked as she faced the demon or devil sitting on the throne.

“Greetings” She started with a small bow “Sorry, I don’t know your title. We seek no quarrel with you. We were just trying to save our friend, Ravyn. If you were the demon inside Ravyn, then, perhaps, we should talk.” Gem said trying read any body language

Callo touched Ravyn, trying to wake her up

When Callo tried to touch Ravyn, she instead touched an energy field around her, her finger tips scintillating across the surface a hairs breath from the girls skin.

“Unh, unh, unh,” The seated figure said waggling it’s finger back and forth in a no no motion. “A virgin sacrifice was offered… she’s mine.”

“I am not the one inside her. I would not be so foolish to be trapped by a mortal.”

The mines on the walls exploded, and then stopped, the debris flung outwards and then encountering a type of time stop spell.

Pulling out a pack of cigarettes the figure touched the tip and inhaled, the screams of the damned emanating from the burning cigarette before the demon/devil exhaled.

Callo

Stopped trying to wake up Ravyn, but remained near her.

Gem

“Oh, I see. I know this logic will not work, but you do realize, a deal for a soul made under duress is not valid. Because, if it were valid, then the strongest celestial could acquire any soul it wanted. You don’t need a contract, if you can bully people into selling their souls. The fact you need a contract in the first place, shows there is a high power at work. FYI, that power can null and void the contract. Also, if the person is under duress, they are not of sound mind or body. Therefore, it is not a valid contract. The second thing is, you never really agreed upon terms of the contract. This sets up numerous loopholes. Thirdly, if you break a contract, you are punished for eternity. I think you are whisked off to the prison layer of the 9 Hells to be tortured for eternity. That does not seem that fair to me, but if true any mistake in the deal, is very bad for you.” Gem reasoned. “Lastly, what if Ravyn made a few other deals… which deal take effect first? What if she made a deal with an angel?”

“Given all these reasons, I think the safest approach here is for you to null and void the contract and go on your way. What do you think?” Gem asked

“You are mistaken, there is no contract, she is payment.” The figure replied smiling as he exhaled smoke through his nose.

Gesturing at the unfortunate acolytes, still trapped in their pain ridden forms, “They made the contract, and failed to uphold their part of the bargain.”

“I don’t care if she made a deal or a contract with one of the Lightbringers. She was offered in payment, I accepted. She belongs to me.”

“And Sanity, or willingness, is not a viable loophole. None of the Virgins are ever willing.”

Gem

“Payment for what?” Gem asked “And can I offer some other kind of payment? And are you sure she is a virgin? There is literally a male inside her right now”

“She is payment for my assistance in certain matters that have already taken place. They wanted certain things; she was given in payment. I provided, now I’m paid.”

Stepping out of the shadows of one of the pillars M’Kael watched the guy in the chair.

“The demo lord inside her is not flesh and blood, it is his essence, his spirit if you will. She has not had sexual congress with a male or female.”

Holding up a hand he dissuaded contradiction. “Her interest in the matter of sex is not the important part. By technicality she is still… pure. If she had not made a deal with said demon she would go to Celestial Realms upon her death. If the demon were to be removed, then she would also return to that state of being.”

“If you offered me something in exchange of higher value, I might consider a trade.”

Gem

“I not exactly sure what you value? One human soul does not seem very valuable. I mean there are 8.2 billion living souls today… 108 billion total souls running around since Homo sapiens arrived on earth. Add the elves, minotaurs, etc just seems like souls are a dime a dozen. Now how about I offer you the engineer? Mr Pinhead… now he is rare. And tasty. You’d love to consume him. Or that pink glowing gem that was on Ravyn chest? That would be worth a bit more. Do we have a deal?

“No,” The man replied, “We do not.”

Steepling his fingers together, his elbows resting on the chairs arms he looked at them. “Dragon, Cleric, Warrior, Shadowborn, all of you combined are not worth her.”

“Only the Light Bearer would be of value,” he said looking at Magdalena.

Gem

“Magdalena is not available” Gem countered. “But perhaps something even better!”

Gem looked up to the heavens “Ayil” She asked

The air shimmered with a divine presence, and the scent of lilies and myrrh wafted through the space. An angel appeared standing in the space next to Gem.

The angel, clad in white, blue crystal dress, with wings that seemed to be woven from the very fabric of the heavens, bowed respectfully toward the evil creature on the throne. “I’m Ayil” the angel’s stated like a melody, soothing yet powerful.

“I will offer myself in trade for Ravyn’s soul.” Ayil said with a smile.

Tapping his temple with the fingers holding the cigarette the entity smiled with a row of human looking teeth. “I don’t know what you are, but you’re no Celestial. You do not have the bright white glow that a true celestial would have. I perceive Good and Evil. And you are far more neutral than the Light Bearer.”

“I’ll take the diamond and let all of you live. Or I kill all of you and then take it and the girl. Unless you have something to bargain with? I could render you completely human and strip your powers from you all, if you're willing that is.”

"Unless you're willing to make a deal..." he said with a soft sinister chuckle and a wry smile.

Ayil

Ayil pulled off the golden ring on her finger, and morphed back into Angela. “Cheap magic ring” She grumbled. “Typical shoddy workmanship from the forces of hell”

Gem

“Gives us a moment to discuss your offer” Gem said as she went over to Angela, M’Kael, and Magdalena. “I have no idea what the diamond does? However, I have no problem giving it over to this lord of hell. I just want to make sure if Ravyn’s soul or life spirit was being drained, she gets it all back, before we hand it over. What do you all think?”

Smiling the figure chuckled softly, “Please don’t be offended, the device was very good. If not for my abilities I would have been deceived, like the Engineer.”

The a fore mentioned individual was seething, his eyes spewing forth rage and hate as he stood where he was, apparently locked in place by something. “Calm down, Or I tell them your true name.”

“Would you like that as part of the deal,” he asked. His position suddenly altered as his arms rested on Gem and Angela’s shoulders like he was their best friend. “It’s not difficult, if you know Dark Speech. I could write it down for you? Or whisper the magic secrets of the nine hells and the Abyss in you ear sweet one?” He suggested his lips centimeters from Gems ear as his intoxicating voice filled her mind.

Just the Magdalena stepped forwards, the tip of her Spear glowing brighter than ever before, “Back Off!” She demanded. Thrusting it close to his nose.

“Oh, Kinky. I like fire and pain.” the demon/Devil said as he shrugged and grinned. “Go ahead, talk amongst yourself. I have eternity. But you do not. She is mine. I can leave when I desire, only an opportunity keeps me here, but that time runs short… Others are coming and they have their own goals.”

"I can even return the fake Angel's Soul.. if she wanted it..."

Gem and Angela

“What do you think?” Gem asked Angela.

“We don’t have the time to figure out what it does. So” Angela pulled out her cup of shadows. “A little insurance.” A few shadows entered the diamond.

Gem shrugged her shoulders. Then she walked over to the lord from hell. “We’ll trade the gem for Ravyn” She agreed holding out the diamond for him to take

“No deal, the gem is worthless without her,” He replied shrugging as he returned to the seat and sat down. Pulling another cigarette from his inner pocket he took a drag on it, the end instantly igniting as he inhaled the toxic fumes.

“Counteroffer: You get the girl, but each and every one of you owes me a favor to be called upon at a time of my choosing. No matter what you must do what I ask. If you refuse or delay the task, I claim your body and soul and take you. Permanently."

Off to the side The Engineers foot moved three inches, his right hand moved two inches. He was breaking free from whatever was holding him.

Angela

Angela stepped forward.

“First you want the gem and now you don’t want it. You are hard to make a deal with. Not sure we can go for the “one favor from each of us…” deal. That sounds unbalanced. How about you give us Ravyn, and we’ll kill the engineer for you? By the way, the engineer, he is not calming down… he is trying to break free. So throw in his name for now… just write it down… I can comprehend all languages” Angela suggested

Gem

“I’m not sure you can collect Ravyn body. She is not dead yet. And what would happen if my minotaur friend” Gem pointed to Angus “had sex with her? Would she be worthless to you?” Gem asked

“The girl is more important than the gem. The gem is useless without the girl, but with the girl I can get another gem.”

“I don’t need him dead, in fact he has proven useful to me at times. I’m keeping him from killing you.”

“I can collect her body and already have. She was promised as payment. I’m collecting payment.” Sighing he looked at Gem. “She is protected by me, you can’t touch her. I’m only pausing here waiting to see if a deal can be made, but it looks like you’re not willing to deal.”

A screaming rip in reality appeared against the wall as Ravyn started to float towards it. “As I said your time is limited, mine is not.”

Gem

Gem turned to M’Kael “Apparently, your sister is payment for some matters or task completed… someone offered her up as a virgin sacrifice. Pretty evil shit. Unless, Ravyn offered herself up, which I doubt.

But whoever did offer her up, had no right to do so. Just think of her as stolen property. If the cops show up, the stolen property is taken and the person who accomplished the task is just shit out of luck. In this analogy, we are the cops by the way. M’Kael, unless you know something more, sounds like we need to depart with the stolen property.”

“And would like to explain to me How we take possession of her?” M’Kael asked “I can’t generate enough shadows to grab her and vanish. He’s done something to limit my powers in here.”

“I’ll offer myself in trade.” Magdalena said.

Angela

“Magdalena, I have a better plan” Angela said.

“Get ready M’Kael… you’ll get your chance in a minute” Angela replied. “Get ready with your crystal ball” Angela said to Gem. Then she turned to the Lord from Hell.

“Let me give this one more try…The blonde with the tits here” Angela said pointing to Gem “might have confused you with her pretty words. Let me translate. You demon/devil fuckers are stickler on contracts and deals. However, as the bimbo has pointed out, this payment is forfeited. The original deal was done under pressure or by someone that has no “ownership” over Ravyn. So sorry… but you provided a service and won’t get paid for it. Yes, we tried to comp you with the glowing diamond. But you turned us down. You got fucked. Sorry.” Angela said with a small grin.

“Now, bye, bye” Angela added as she pulled out the cup of shadows. The room suddenly grew dark with shadows. Angela had activated Soulful Sanctuary. Once per day, the Goblet can create a protective barrier against bright lights.

At the same time, Gem pressed the strange silver crystal ball against Ravyn’s floating body. The crystal ball absorbed magic spells. Whatever spell was placed on Ravyn was sucked into the crystal ball.

“Now M’Kael” Gem yelled… hoping M’Kael could shadow away with Ravyn. Everyone else would need to deal with the aftermath of their actions.

M’Kael wasted no time as he flickered from one place to another, the shadows giving him access to his forbidden powers. Wrapping his arms around Ravyn he faded, though it took longer than he wanted. Far far longer than he wanted. The strain cross his face as he fought the demon Lord’s power.

Watching as Ravyn Vanished under M’Kael intervention, The creature smiled. “Oh, you don’t seem to understand. You don’t ‘own’ currency when you use it. You’re simply in possession of it. And although they didn’t ‘own’ The Girl they did.. possess it..”

“She is mine, and I will have her…” He threatened, “Surrender her, or I will collect payment from others.”

And the Engineer stepped forth, free from whatever hold had been on him. “Kill the boy, bring me the girl.” The Lord said simply.

And the Engineer vanished with a twisting of his fingers as the place he had been rolled in on itself like hell had been disturbed for a second.

“I’ve been polite so far, but that ends now.” HE said with a twisted smile of mirth as a horned, winged, wolf-headed DEMON with bone-white flesh onto which have been riveted plates of spiky armor appeared. “Disable them, then kill them all.”

Oh Shit

Angela pulled out her two daggers and slashed at the creature. Its armor was way too thick and her blades simply bounce off.

“Going from being polite to kill everyone… WHAT? No middle ground… YOU ARE VERY BI-POLAR!” Angela yelled at the Lord from Hell. The demon creature bite into her shoulder and tossed her like a rag doll.

Once she was out of the line of fire. Angus opened up with his 50 Cal. The daggers might have bounce off, but not these bullets. The bullets were piercing the monster’s armor but not by very much.

“I’ll banish it” Gem yelled but before she could cast the spell… to wolf-monster reached her.

“Nice doggie” Gem said as she dodged the creatures snapping jaws. She was able to avoid the jaws but one of the spiked armor plates on the side of its cut a big gash on her arm.

Angus aimed the 50 cal at its head and drove the creature back. It was enough for Gem to escape.

Meanwhile, Callo attacked the Lord from Hell. She knew killing him was impossible, but the idea was just to keep him busy. So she attacked with a rapid series of quick strikes to keep him busy parrying, dodging and defensing.

As Callo attacked him, the Hell Lord smiled, her attacks skittering across a prismatic field that appeared between them, the spray of colors and light distorting the area and confusing and blinding to look upon.

From his pockets he withdrew several rings and donned them before opening his suit coat he reached in and withdrew a rapier. The blade humming with power and dripping with souls.

With an evil chuckle he closed his eyes and sighed, a burning crown forming on his head. When he opened his eyes again they were black as night and oozed blood.

“You dare attack me!?” he snarled as he stepped towards Callo the blade flashing, each cut would bleed unstoppable blood until a healing spell could be used, but in combat that wasn’t likely to happen. And he was fast, far faster than was expected.

The Gallu (Warmonger Demon) moved just slower than the Lord but it snapped and snarled at Gem and then it spoke, it’s gaze commanding, “Kill your allies!!” it demanded using it’s Geas ability.

Gem

Gem’s eyes glazed over and she turned toward Angus pointing her staff at him.

Angus

“Nope… not happening” Angus growl and slammed the 50 cal gun barrel against Gem’s head. Which knocked her to the floor and knocked her out!

“THAT OUR RIDE OUT OF HERE, YOU STUPID BULL” Callo yelled at Angus.

Angus ignored Callo as he approached the wolf-headed demon.

The Gallu had one more trick up its sleeve. It cast Rain of Blood. All the wounds or cuts on anyone’s body within 30 feet erupted into a gory deluge of blood; This included Gem and Callo! Blood was spraying everywhere. Gem awoke and screamed in pain.

That pissed Angus off more. His muscles bulged and tensed up in fury, as his massive axe gleaming. He attacked the wolf-head demon with a storm of blows. Sparks flew as the magic blade met the armor plates. Each strike a thunderous explosion of raw power. The axe broke the armor plates apart!

The demon snarled, its wolfish jaws snapping inches from the Angus' face, but Angus’ rage was unrelenting. With a deafening roar, the Minotaur lowered his head, his horns stabbing out the eyes of the demon. He seized the moment, raised his axe high above his head. He brought the axe down in a devastating strike. The blade buried itself deep into the demon's wolf-like skull, splitting the head with a sickening crack. The demon's body convulsed. It emitted an unholy howl as it collapsed in a heap of smoke and ash.

“YOU ARE NEXT” Angus yelled, pointing to the lord of hell. But that did not happen as everyone was teleported away!

M’Kael set Ravyn on the couch of a room, and then turned, a shadowy blade formed in his hand as he watched the rest of the group materialize in front of him.

Magdalena was covered in oozing wounds as she dropped to her knees and prayed for healing. In moments everyone’s injuries closed as she continued praying softly and reverently.

“Angus, you’re an idiot,” she finally said as she forced herself to her feet. “You’d have lasted a few seconds against him. I was barely able to slow the Warmonger down with wards and counter spells.”

Angus

To add to Angus’ problems, Callo yelled at him too

“Stupid!” The shadow dragon added to Magdalena comments. Then Gem slapped him right across his bull snort.

“That was for hitting me with the gun!” Gem declared in fury

“Sorry about that” Angus said to Gem and then looked over to Magdalena and Callo. “Sorry” he said. His bull eyes looking sad and hurt.

Angela picked herself off the floor, her shoulder still ripped open and covered in blood. Everyone could see her shoulder bones moving as she stood up.

“I’m glad you are all worried about me” she snarked, mocking their lack of concern.

“Sorry Angela, how are you doing?” Gem asked.

“I should be better in a few minutes.” Angela explained. “What are you doing M’Kael? And how is Ravyn?” The vampire asked the two over on the couch.
