Since nobody talks about the price of gas anymore...

We gassed up at $3.14 recently. We might as well enjoy it--when the election's over it'll go back up.

I'll take a jerboam of Crawford Ranch Secret Reserve, please.

I'm driving the Bugatti down to the Kwikie Mart for some foam and crunchies.

$3.05 here I am a happy guy!

You don't suppose that's what they planned all along, do you? Or that they're trying to give their GOP buddies a little help? Nah, surely not.

Also, ain't it strange that Ike shut down refineries and caused a gasoline shortage but the price has dropped. Hmm, I recon the oil companies just feel sorry for us and are giving back some of their record profits. Yeah, that's the ticket.

I live in Nebraska. Thay have 2 types of regular here...blended and straight if you will. The blended is the typical 10% ethanol mix...regular has no ethanol in it. Blended here right now is about $2.80, regular typically goes about .10 more. You can get it even cheaper at the local Sams Club.

As of about 7:30 ET, Bloomberg was showing crude at $81.20/brl, which is up from what I saw yesterday...about $77/brl

If you think lower prices are funny, just wait till they send you the bill to bail-out the oil companies.

In Canton, Ohio it was in the mid 2.60's to low 2.70's. Last week it was 2.92. Still the lowest I've seen.

Hmmm yesterday it was down to about $2.95 a gallon here.

Part of the reason for the drop is they've been recording increases in stockpiles of fuel, while we're still experiencing a decrease in demand. One has to keep in mind, with the economy how it is, people are driving less and less. Some because they lost their jobs, some because they're afraid they will lose their job and thus are trying to save some money.

However, the group one must really keep an eye on is OPEC. The leaders of that group became used to getting tons of money in, and with the continued decrease in price of oil, are getting less and less. Recently it was announced by CNN that they planned to meet to address the sudden decrease in value of oil, and perhaps adjust supply [aka drop amount produced in order to drive prices back up].

Out of the groups that are to blame, the OPEC leaders stand to lose the most. With the vast majority of oil companies being publicly traded stock, with most peoples 401K's holding stock in such companies as ExxonMobil, they have to debate between sending out larger dividends [increases your 401K value, MMA value, etc] and putting money back into exploration for more oil [Exxon plans to spend $1 billion this year alone]. The OPEC leaders don't have to worry about that, all revenue goes to paying for their 5-star hotel like homes, silver cars, personal jets, personal helicopters, etc etc.

$3.45 is the lowest here. :(

Doesn't it make you wonder why there is such a difference in fuel prices in different states or even in the same cities. In my little town it's 3.09, as I mentioned in Canton Ohio, 2.60+ yet five miles from where I live it's 3.24. Why??? I'm talking the same kind of station whether it's BP Sunoco or Speedway.

What we have by our house is $3.37 right now. That's down two whole cents from last Thursday. However...we just took a road trip way down south and saw gas prices in central and southern Indiana for $2.97 on Thursday, but $2.68 yesterday. That's a twenty-nine cent drop in the same amount of time as our two cent drop. That sorely pissed me off.

Not to fear. Oil is rising now that Bush is sending checks to the banks.

On my last drive, within 5 miles of each other (my abbreviation for the company followed by price in dollars):
LO 3.059
LO 3.059
SS 2.959
LO 2.999
UN 2.899
FC 2.899
HS 2.959

That's quite a silly spread of prices there, especially since three of the stations are the same company with two prices :D
