I don't know why but there's certain songs that I have to dance to when I'm listening to them. Some are moderate. A short dance at a certain part of the song (like the Irish jig in Kate Bush's "Jig of Life") to a song that just makes me dance through it ("Temple of Syrinx" by Rush) no matter what and no matter what I'm doing.

Anyone else have that problem?

I kinda relate this dancing urge to the thing that makes me wanna bang my head when I hear Quiet Riot....I know that it just shows how much bad taste still lurks deep within me...

Yes.

I also love Rush. Saw them in Kansas City.

But for all my supposed "classical training" it's the fun songs I enjoy the most.

Van Halen's version of "You Really Got Me"

Ted Nugent's "Free for All"

Those two tunes are guaranteed to get me to drop everything and sing along while dancing up a storm.

It's a bit embarrassing in the grocery store.

I think every person who has ever listened to metal bangs their head to that song, even if just subconsciously. It's part of the infective rhythm man.

so what's my excuse for downloading Britney Spears videos? (ok, I admit that sound on them is entirely optional...)

Riddlin Kids - "I Feel FIne" or "Stop the World"

Great Big Sea - "The Night Pat Murphy Died" (jigging music)

Kenny Wayne - "Was"

Ram Jam - "Black Betty"

that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Hey... what's wrong with Quiet Riot? I love "Come on Feel the Noise" :p

If I had to list a few...

bob marley
beetles
bee gees
abba

Stone Roses – Resurrection
Candy Statton - You got Da Love
Tom Petty - Wildflowers

I don't find it embarassing at all. Years ago, when I was trying to be mature, I wouldn't have thought of doing such a thing but now, when I am just old, I often dance in the aisles to the muzak in the store. Probably people stare at me but I have gotten to the point where I don't care.

A whole damn load of'em.

Bohemeian Rhapsody by Queen, showing off my age I get to the musical bridge bit and I bang my head up and down like a freak, wherever I hear it!

"Dancing in the moonlight" toploader gets me dancing too.

Anything thats from a disney movie, I sing along first and most of them make me tap my foot in rhythm to them.

I was once in Asda (supermarket now owned by walmart) with my husband and "More than words" came on and we danced in the chilled meats aisle to it. Awwww so romantic.

Anything with an associated memory will get a dance too. "Reach for the stars" S club seven and Five "Keep on movin'" for examples.

Hell if there's music I'm usually bobbing and singing along. I've done since I was little so i don't get embarassed. Though Beth will often tell me to shush these days *L*

The Lambada, the forbidden dance...brazilian...the long version...

If it doesnt make you move...you're dead.

amicus.... :nana:

For the last month, I've had a daily habit. I have Gorillaz' "Dirty Harry" on my mp3 player, crank it up to full volume and dance around until I knock over furniture.

I can't help it. I need that groove fix to get through the day. It's addictive stuff.

I'll second the Bob Marley thing. I've got his boxed set, and I just can't help but bounce around when I'm listening to it. (yeah, mon)

I've been on a Led Zeppelin kick here lately. Don't get me wrong, I listen to their cd's fairly often (I have all of them, what can I say? My favorite band of all time), but the last week or so, that's all I've listened to. My favorite? Physcial Graffiti, of course. :)

music that makes your pants wanna dance...nearly everything minus wagner...*ack*
but im really into swing.

"Love Rollercoaster" -- Red Hot Chili Peppers

"Jump Around" -- House of Pain

"I'm Too Sexy" -- Right Said Fred

Now you know my secret. Shh.

Just about anything by ABBA, but obviously "Dancing Queen" makes me shake my hiney.

Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar on Me."

The Pretenders "Brass in Pocket."
"...Gonna make you, make you, make you notice
Gonna use my arms,
Gonna use my legs,
Gonna use my style,
Gonna use my side-step-
Gonna use my fingers.
Gonna use my, my, my, imagination.
Cause I going make you see-- there's nobody else here
No one like me.
I'm special, so special.
I got to have some of your attention, give it to me!
I got rhythm, I can't miss a beat..."

There are more, but those are the ones that immediately come to mind. Oh, and I bang my head like the rest of you hooligans, too, but I can't "dance" and "bang my head"; I just sort of … hop, when I bang my head. :D

Hi, Luc. ;)

The BeeGees.... I can't dance in general but someone taught me the Hustle so when I hear the Gibbs I must channel Travolta.

Culture Club

Walking on Sunshine with Katrina and the waves and my kids.

We have dance parties. :nana:

hey I'm not the only one dancing with the kids lol
Love the beegees and some newer BEPs and 50cent , but lately everyone wants to jump around to BUSH Machine head , weird household
