Cain: "Abolish capital gains tax"

Pawlenty: "The US can have the same economic growth rate as China and Brazil"

Moderator: "How do you know tax cuts on businesses will create jobs when the Bush tax cuts on businesses didn't create jobs" [all candidates refuse to answer]

Not one of them is "Presidential". This is their best and brightest?

Bachmann: "The CBO says that "Obamacare" will kill 800,000 jobs"

Um, no, the director of the CBO said that if people are comfortable that they will have insurance - and if fewer people are going bankrupt because of medical bills - they'll retire slightly sooner and reduce the number of people trying to have a job.

Very true. These people are the dregs of the barrel and human sacrifices come 2012. The GOP really has no one who's world class stuff.

Part of the problem is the sense that a house is about to drop on Washington in terms of the economy. I suspect the GOP wise men prefer for the house to drop on Obama.

Non-issue oriented questions is why the modern corporate news media isn't worth a shit.

No, they are emerging economies. They're trying to go from zero to sixty and we're trying to go from fifty to sixty.

TARP received overwhelming Republican support including from Bush. It's funny to see these candidates run from it.

Newt: If NASA was private we would have people living on the moon.

I've said before that the next presidential election should literally be an American Idol-style weekly television competition. And this debate reminds me of the early rounds of American Idol, where you can see all the singers trying out their moves and approaches before they get used to being minor stars.

All these, "When I'm President" declaratives, with a firm nod of the head, is like watching someone oversing a song.

I know you're practicing for prime time, but no one thinks you're going to be president, and everyone knows that you're just saying that because your debate coach said it sounds good.
