Hi, my name is CD and I'm a sigaholic.

I started off like most posters, just a quote or two from a famous writer I liked. But then I added a quote from a friend... then another... and another. Then it was song lyrics... and then... then.... whole songs! Then I added links to my web page, then to contest pages, then... then... I just couldn't stop! And colors! A whole rainbow of colors! Then coding and smiles... oh dear God the smiles!

The breaking point for me was when I looked down one day and saw the dancing nana in my sig line. It was kind of shocking to see them dancing there... mocking me with their silly little grins. I erased them but the temptation to put them back is so strong that I knew I needed help. That's why I started Sigs Anonymous. Because I knew what it was like to need a shoulder to lean on.

So is there anybody else that wants to come forward and admit that you have a problem? Admitting that there is something wrong is the first step to making a change.

Hiding the sigs isn't the answer. You need to confront your demons, not hide them in the closet.

hahaha. But it does break the pattern, then you can change the behavior....

Too many people hide in the closet.

I wish I had a sig problem no one ever says anything about me thats interesting or humourous enough to quote.

Yes, change is good. As long as it's a change for the better. But change just for the sake of change isn't progress.

How does that apply to changing one's underwear?

I was hiding in the closet, but then I had to come out to pee.

Just act like a moron like I do, people will say all kinds of things about you.

Clean underwear = good

Dirty underwear = bad

There was another thread around here that had replies that would disagree with that statement in regards to HER underwear...

Well, 'different strokes' and all that. ;)

you're right, but if I hide my sigs then I don't have to look at YOUR problem.

:)

So do what any reasonably sensible person would do. Put a link to your stories and find one line that REALLY means something to you, something that defines you, and leave it at that.

It's nice to have other people say something profound about you and if this was my own personal web page I might quote them all. But it's not. So I don't.

You don't have to put full page pics and personality test results and a dozen accolades in your sig to impress me. Just be you in every post and that will make a bigger impression than your signature ever will.

I think it's been pretty well established that I'm long past 'reasonably sensible'.

And I'm pretty sure nobody has ever said anything profound about me.

Don't sell yourself short, people say thing profound about you all the time. Ok, maybe not to your face but they do. ;)

They do? Are they drinking heavily when they say it?
