Alright, so, I took a semester off after HS. I didn't plan for college until too late so I had to. It gave me time to get the Wisdom teeth out and that was fun:rolleyes:

Anyways, so yesterday, I get to my dorm and meet my roommate, has beer posters and bottles all over the place. I hear stories from my friends in college tell me how theirs will come in drunk and puke on their stuff.

And I've got two more to meet, both frat boys.

This is going to be a long semester:(

What's it like to clean puke out of a boombox? You don't want to learn. Keep lots of trash bins around with plastic liners in them. They'll be handy in more ways than one.

Well...

Don't know the people
Don't drink
Don't Smoke... anything..

I got an ethernet connection. Boooo-yah!

can you apply for a room switch?

I don't know... I'm gonna go home for a few days and then start school, and try them out for a week or something.

my advice is to get on it quickly. if you make a big deal about it from the get go you have a better chance of switching. if you take your time then your opportunities diminish.

I don't know, he seems like a nice guy and all. I'm using his machine now... I think it's just me not being used to live with strangers... or drinkers.

And from waht I've heard, the options aren't that much better.

My second year at college was something like this except, I KNEW one of the girls and she was not the same person I thought I KNEW!! Smokin all kinds of stuff ~ I'm not a big partier myself, so I was shocked!! Plus, living on campus, kinda dangerous if caught (ie, expulsion) I was concerned.

Everything ended up fine, talked with her (like a grown up) kinda set up some ground rules and things were fine.

However, there is NOTHING, I mean NOTHING better than having an apartment or house with a bedroom all to yourself!!!

Is getting an apartment an option at all? Apartments are usually cheaper when you figure food & all ~ dorms can be such a rip off!!

Where are you going to school?

If you're stuck there, Ground Rules, Ground Rules, Ground Rules. Also, include a Tests and Finals clause in said Ground rules. If ANYONE in the dorm room has a test or final within 3 days, the partying is taken elsewhere automatically. Also, set a room cerfew, not 10 pm, or midnight, but say, after 3 am, people can not come in unless they do it quietly. Avoiding things being nebulous avoids misinterpretation. As for a deterent on heavy drinking, make it a rule that whatever they do, they have to clean up. You would be amazed what making a guy clean a toilet while he's hungover does. Good Luck!
