I'm bummed, bored, and I think everyone's hiding from me. Am I really that bad? No, wait, don't answer that! Instead, answer this:

What do you do to battle the blues? I'm in serious need of some suggestions here, chocolate's not working.

battling the blues...

I go to this really neat site called Literotica. You may have heard of it :)
Seriously, escaping usually works for me. Except on those days when it seems that for me to post on a thread is a virtual kiss of death.
If that doesn't work, I attack the husband.
If that doesn't work, I put on something tight fitting or low cut and go out. Teasing pool players at the local watering hole usually perks me right up.

And if all that fails, I find my cat. He always loves me, even when no one else does :)

Chocolate or pasta, or whatever your comfort/fun food may be. Going out to eat at a favorite restaurant and getting dessert, too.

Exercise, especially walking somewhere nice like the mountains or the beach.

Talking to a good friend.

Watching a really good movie.

Reading a really good book or magazine.

Taking a hot shower or bath and giving yourself a pedicure, manicure, and/or facial, then putting on comfy clothes and sipping hot chocolate or tea or cider or whatever on the couch while watching something silly and unimportant on TV.

Petting a kitty or puppy.

So Laurel something tells me you have felt blue before :)

I always write, it relaxes me and takes my mind off everthing.

Write to a loved one, or start a story, maybe just write to yourself about how your feeling now, when you go back and read it, you will be able to see what you did to get out of feeling blue.

Good Luck anyway :)

Sorry chick, I headed for bed a couple of hours before you got on and posted this. I would have loved to help cheer you up though. When I'm bummed and there's no one around, I do one of two things. If the baby is in the mood, I snuggle him on my lap and rum my fingers through his curls. Nothing can upset me when I can feel his silky hair and smell his baby smell. If both kids are too busy doing kid things, I shop online. Nothing better than finding a great bargain while sitting here in my panties and a comfy tee. Here are the links:

Well, since I've been in counseling I'm learning "coping skills". Don't ya just love buzzwords? :)

What I've been doing lately is writing down whatever's bothering me. Sometimes it just looks stupid on paper, and sometimes it helps me figure out exactly what it is that's on my mind, or what aspect of a situation is bugging me.

I also go buy myself a little treat sometimes. Nothing extravagant, just a new shirt, or a candle, or some other little luxury item. *shrug* Works for me, usually.

Nothing works better for me than forcing a smile, preferrably in a mirror, get goofy with it, make funny faces, soon you'll be laughing for real.

Oh, nothing works better than some music, a hot bubble bath, a bottle of wine and a great book.

Imagining the above worked for me.

My god what I'd give to get that on tape. I wonder if Pepin can be bribed?
