I have been looking into the issue of "IS" (Internet Stalking) recently after reading some stories told by many women and children using the internet. And as you see it can lead to a very serious situation when especially it involves adults and children and "uncertain identities".

People must safeguard themselves from unwanted attention and be mindful of guarding their real identity only for protection. However, it would be nice to know exactly who it is we are getting that attention from, which seems to cancel out the identity problem.

It is down to common sense basically. And if such attention gets out of control...the article above gives some ideas of how to cope with it.
