My Chiropractor told me that I needed to sleep on my side. Impossible. He said that I always slept with my head to the right on my tummy and that my neck had better range of motion in that direction than the left. So... since I can't do the side thing... I changed my bedroom around and where my alarm clock and cell phone are. Now I HAVE to face the other way to see the clock and hit snooze.

Funny enough... the cat hasn't figured out that my sleep orientation is changing, so now when the alarm goes off, I slap the cat half the time to snooze. Poor little dude.

:D

I used to switch my bed around the room a lot, changing the orientation of which side is against the wall, and always face away from the wall. At some point after high school, this stopped being effective, and even when I moved my bed, I still ended up facing the same way, wall be dammed. Right now my bed is oriented so that I am facing the wall. I have to roll over a little to look at my clock.

And I have had to get up to turn off the alarm for over a decade. It helps me wake up in the morning

I don't sleep very well and I know I toss and turn. My back gets sore if I lay too long on it. I can't sleep on my stomach at all or I won't be able to move when I wake up. Breathing out of my nose is impossible and my apnea is bad. I start on my back, go to my left side later and move all over during the night as my joints stiffen up. (Sux getting old.)

I always start out on the side of the bed that's nearest the door. A little leftover from when I was about eight years old - we lived in the San Fernando Valley and had to evacuate once in the middle of the night because of a fire.

I'm still paranoid enough about it not to sleep on the side away from the door...at least when I go to sleep.

I can sleep anywhere, at any time, on anything...even standing up. :D

I often cat nap (al la T. Edison) for 15 min. and be raring to go...or sleep for 10 hrs. straight on my left side if lying down.
