I just had someone call my place doing market research. So feeling a little kind (maybe boredom played into it) and finding it difficult to be rude to people I decided to play along. Anyway she asks me if there are any female members of the household 19-24. I say "I'm the only one in the household (I'm 30 year old male)". She then tells me "I need a Yes or No answer AND THEN WAITS for me to say NO!! Then proceeds to ask me six straight questions like:

Is there a female member of the household:

25-34
35-44
45-54

and so forth. I felt like saying "HELLO, what part of I'm the only member of the household do you not understand?"

Some people just follow the script too precisely to actually listen.
