shunned healer and celtic lord fall in love

I'm looking for a story about a Celtic-like soldier who leaves his land to go visit his intended bride to solidify two kingdoms. while he's on the journey with his men they end up getting ambushed and he winds up wounded, he's found an outcasted female healer. she takes care of him and eventually his people find him. she is asked (forced) to go back to their lands in order to continue his healing journey. he eventually starts to fall in love with her, not knowing she is the outcast best friend of his intended bride.

I'm not sure if this was a book or a lit story lol
