Showing that I have a PM, but I don't

When I logged in 20 minutes ago, I was alerted that I have a PM. I go to the inbox, and nothing, although it still says that I have one.

Could this be because I received a message from a spambot that just hasn't cleared out completely?

I have the exact same situation! I thought perhaps someone on my Ignore List had tried to message me, although that's unlikely.

Anyone have an idea what could be going on?

I have the same thing as well. I am guess the sender was a spammer and/or the sending account was deleted. Is there any way to get rid of the invisible unread message?

How to report spam

A few days ago I received notification that I had a PM. When I logged on I couldn't access it. While online just now, got another notification. First PM was from SofiaNelson, the one just now from YanaKuzmi. Pretty sure it's spam since the title of both was 'Are you looking for new ipmressions or feelings?'. The same misspelling in both titles. How do I contact Laurel to report this?

I am having the same issue. I am fairly certain it is not spam either since I have been messaging one person but haven't seen anything from them even though they logged in. This is the second time in a week I have had this happen the other one I never saw and cleared out my inbox so I feel that it is lost forever. But would like to know what this one is.

I just got a notification of a private message from a user I've messaged in the past over a story. There is no message in the inbox folder. I've checked the sent folder, reloaded the inbox, logged out and logged in but no messages.

There are now 3 unread messages from the same user, somewhere. I'm using Chrome 53.0.2785. I've been able to send and receive messages from this user before.

I'm at a loss. I've double and triple checked the message settings and they're correct for receiving messages from other users not in the buddy list. I just can't find the messages.

Use the forward box instead of the reply and type in Laurel at the top. A drop down list will appear, select the top one. Type in spam in the title bar and send

For everyone else who has a message showing and none to view. There has been a glitch in the system from time to time. It is probably not Lit but the vbulletin forum software.

Same issue here. I had one unread a week ago, now it's up to 2. And logging out and in doesn't work. I assume spammers are causing this somehow.

The upper right corner of the screen says I have one unread message, yet the last message in my inbox is from 3 years ago. And it has been read multiple times. I haven't received any spam messages recently, unlike some people above me on this post. But that "unread" message appeared in the upper right corner of my screen about the same time as it did for the OP.

Sometimes accidentally and before you read a new message it's being moved to your saved folder and it appears as still not read.
Scroll down all your folders of saved massages...you might be surprised.

No, this has to do with all the spam bots being deleted by Laurel. Not all of the counters are resetting.
