Show us your tattoos

The last one was 6 hours with a half hour break. It’s still in the angry red phase ;)

So, how did you feel about the difference?
Interesting question!!

First - I am really not the right person to ask about pain, I think.. I do not mind pain that much, or at least not.. that kind of pain.

Machine ink:
It is faster, there are more nuances of black-grey ink to choose between, you can get some beautiful and intricate details, and when you need black areas, they will become black fast, and you do not need to have the same area poked over, and over again.

And if you like the brush stroke designs or water colour.. then choose the machine technique.

In my case, the machine ink healed significantly faster and I had absolutely no inflammation, despite being out travelling and having to work.. wearing socks and shoes, and being tattooed on my foot and ankle.

Hand poked:
There are some designs that just works best, when hand poked.
Obviously, it takes a lot longer to get a tattoo done that way though 😅
The details are crazy.. seeing a piece of art, in dot work.. it always amazes me.

It uses less ink that the machine technique, and therefore it should be healing faster and have less complications.

I did have a small inflammed area though. But.. because that place needed to be pitch black, it did get poked.. a lot!!

My conclusion:

It all comes down to the design and art style you want.

Machine ink will be faster, maybe slightly more painful 🤷🏼‍♀️
Hand poked is going to take its sweet time, maybe less painful, and healing faster 🤷🏼‍♀️

I like both!

Thank you for all this. Mine have all been traditional. I'm a slight weenie about pain. But the one on my ankle and the one on my wrist really didn't bother me much. The 2 in my bikini line hurt quite a bit.

I have a half sleeve on my arm, but it's somewhat distinct so I'm not sure about posting it. However, I do appreciate those who have shared - there's some great art in this thread.
