The closed thread about the usefulness of Twitter prompted me to comment. I've been a user of Twitter, and thought they do a decent job for writers. Or maybe I should say the writers using Twtr are a very supportive group. Someone on there recently asked if anyone even uses Literotica any more. I answered that for writers it's a good platform.

Just for comparison I mentioned that on another erotic story site, most of my stories have 2500 to 3700+ views(dloads) after being published 15+ years ago. I had a new story on Literotica post a little over 12 hours ago today, and it's already over 3600 views! That stat alone tells me I probably won't be adding any more stories to that other site. Kudos to Laurel also for approving my new story in approx. 48 hours at almost 19,000 words.

Well, no, you could just walk away if you actually wanted to. You also could delete your story file, if you actually wanted to.

Fuck you and fuck this damn hellhole.
It's like in the Prisoner series, you can go in but not go out.
A couple of sociopathic pimps are holding me hostage here.
I am imprisoned in a virtual hell cell in the company of degenerate perverts, self-loathing misanthropes, and inferiority freaks.
There has never been such a high concentration of human waste in one place – readers, writers, and owners.

And yet . . . here you are.

No one is forcing you to stay.

The standards for acceptance at Literotica are not high. Stop shouting obscenities at people, calling people names, starting pointless fights, and accusing everyone you disagree with with stupidity and bad faith, and people will have no objection to you and your opinions. It's a standard any reasonably sentient, semi-rational adult can understand and meet, if they wish to.

Do you wish to? Simple question.

By the way, once again you are hijacking a reasonable thread. If you want to sound off against Literotica, start a new thread rather than hijacking others'.

The story I uploaded yesterday has been approved in less than 24 hours... Whatever is going on with the moderation of stories, I hope it lasts

Sometimes clicking on a thread in AH is like walking into a semi-respectable pub for some chips and a beer, until you realise there's one regular up past his bedtime just kind of drunkenly shouting at everyone from the corner when they pass by.

The words can seem remarkably like walking through Ankh-Morpork, and encountering Foul Old Ron: "Buggrit. Millennium hand and shrimp."

I'm on Twitter however, I do not promote my Literotica stories on it.

I use mine to keep in touch with my friends from around the world, sports and politics.

I just report and ignore the "guy":rolleyes::rolleyes:

I see that my ignore buddy is still spouting things. I see that only because it has a microphone with line through it, and, You are ignoring content by this member.

I'm only ignoring one member so it must him still spouting vitriol! Glad I don't see it any more.

PTerry's Foul Old Ron could probably have a conversation with our Foul Old Ron Who Sall Not Be Named, and sound more eloquent.

Back on the original subject:

A nice thing about Twitter is it is extremely simple and requires almost no effort. As someone else pointed out, if you link to Literotica's Twitter page, when you post a story and link to Literotica, it will retweet the announcement. You will get the attention of other erotic authors, who may also like or retweet your announcements. You can obtain information easily about other erotic authors and see what they are doing. So it's a way of getting information and perhaps some attention and more traffic with minimal effort.

Tilan, go to the top of the page, send a PM to Laurel and ask her to delete your account and your stories. You might be surprise at how fast you will be gone along with your stories.

The Prisoner – you can go in but not go out.
I don't think the guy actually went in of his own accord. He was sent there because they wanted information. I'm not sure what information you have that keeps you here, but if you do, the best way of getting out of here is to divulge it.

Before he goes, I’d really like to know how the bipolar woman and her father got stuck on a desert island.

The whole thing has a kind of Hotel California vibe: you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave. I want a sip of some of that pink champagne on ice.

A request for a temporary forum ban has been sent, and Tilan's stated desire to be removed from the site has been forwarded for Laurel's consideration. :)

He certainly removed his post quickly. In fact, his entire profile seems to have disappeared, so I guess Laurel took the request seriously.

His attempts at being tongue-in-cheek were more like a sign of mental instability.

Was that one of his plots? I never read any of his collected works. Well, there is Cast Away, although I missed the plot twist in which FedEx lost track of one its planes so easily. (I know, the lost transmitter.) Even more absurd is Gilligan's Island. How far from Hawaii (I presume) could one get in a boat that size in a single day?

No, it was a reference to a bit of gibberish in one of his deleted posts.

I never read any of his stories. Why should I be the only one?

That's even worse; he couldn't even reference one of his own stories. I was going to guess that drug use may have been a factor in his ramblings, although I don't know which substance would have those results.
