A new member here (SFF) and I would both love to see a place where particularly awesome music could be posted!

Please vote. ^_^

I don't see why not. Just like with the visual arts threads eventually becoming an entire forum of their own, a musical interests thread could have the same potential. I certainly wouldn't shun such a thread.

I voted! You, Halo?

I see someone voted against. O_O

To everyone:

Music is an artform as much as writing , drawing, and painting, etc!

Yes, I voted. I wonder who the killjoy is that voted against. They probably need to get the tree branch out of their ass.

LOL!

Indeed, Halo.

There's already a few that were started by Blackwolf, why not just bump them?

I think it would be cool to start a new one every once in awhile.

Anyone wanna bump any of Blackwolf's? Are they pretty big?

I believe that voting on polls is up with getting an avatar. You have to have so many posts under your belt before you can vote on polls. However, this poll appears to be closed, that may also be causing the problem. :D

Good to have you here, Little Kitten. Welcome to our very little corner of the WWW!!! :rose:

Welcome H! I've seen it a few times, and I'm wowed every time! I can't help but rock out! :D

As far as I'm concerned, from now on this is the new music thread and I'm going to start posting some links.

Personally I'm a rock fan more than anything and a lot of what I listen to are Rock Ballads. (What you’d call love songs with a rock tune for those that don't know, I never went for all that Marvin Gay shit).

Alannah Myles - Black Velvet
Mississippi in the middle of a dry spell
Jimmy Rogers on the victrola up high
Mama's dancing with baby on her shoulder
The Sun is setting like molasses in the sky.
The boy could sing, knew how to move, everything.
Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for.

CHORUS:

Black velvet and that little boy smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring you to your knees
Black velvet if you please.

Up in Memphis the music's like a heat wave
White lightning, bound to drive you wild.
Mama's baby's in the heart of every school girl
"Love me tender" leaves 'em cryin' in the aisle
The way he moved, it was a sin, so sweet and true.

Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for.

CHORUS:

Black velvet and that little boy smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring you to your knees
Black velvet if you please.

Every word of every song that he sang was for you.
In a flash he was gone, it happened so soon,

What could you do?
CHORUS:

Black velvet and that little boy smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring you to your knees
Black velvet if you please.
Black velvet and that little boy smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring you to your knees
Black velvet if you please.

...If you please
If you please

That's Pachelbel's Canon. I have the original on CD and it sounds even more moving on Electric guitar.
Actually a lot of Classical music sounds great on Electric guitar.

Indeed, I love Bach, Vivaldi, Handel, and all of Mozart's Violin Concertos.

My son can play any of them on his electric. They sound wonderful on his classical guitar too.

I'd love to see what you can dig up, Retrieval!
