sure

they just can't have ALL of Jeruselem.

They want the ancient part of Jeruselem, that isn't for sale.

No, they had one, and tried to take Isreal too. They lost their homeland as a result of their attempted refusal to allow the jews a homeland.

A Jewish homeland that was forced upon them after WW2 and after the Balfour Declaration.

Also at the end of the first Arab/Isreali war...actually Jordan gained the west bank, then on the advent of the next one, they lost it.

Keep in mind that the Isrealis are not innocents in all this, immediatly after gaining the west bank...they started a systematic settlement of it,basically telling many Palestinians give me your prime land or die, overnight they were transformed into second class citizens with minimal rights,also...is it really a great idea to broadcast the Israeli idea to moe down the Dome of the Rock to build a new Temple?..It has been stated far too much to be forgotten,or forgiven

It doesn't matter if they should or shouldn't. Israeli jews will not stop until the only people left in Israel are jews. They've consistently promised the Palestinians land and then a few years later have moved them out. Whatever peace they manage to broker will only last a few years until Israel pushes again. Thats what Zionism is. Israel is the promised land given to the freed Hebrew slaves by God eons ago. Now they're intent on getting it back the same way they took it, by moving everyone else out.

I normally respect all of your posts as being far above any of my knowledge. However, this post just does not seem to be quite accurate.

Israel did not follow the instructions of the UN, they expanded upon what the UN initially set up. What the UN initially set up far exceeded what most western leading countries were willing to give the Jewish people. How can you say that the Palestinians don't deserve a homeland. They were kicked off theirs.

First, my response was intentionally simplistic, and no tintended to attempt a comprehensive explanation of the situation.

Second, Isreal my not have followed the instructions of the UN, but If they had, there would be no Isreal today.

If the Palestinians and their Arab allies had NOT declared war and invaded from three directions on the day Isreal became an independent state, (coincidentally, the same day the Plaestinians became independent for the first time in several centuries,) there could very well BE a Palestinian homeland today.

To the best of my recollection, Isreal has only intiated hostilities outside of its borders on in Lebanon, and that in reaction to daily missile attacks on it's territory. (Territory that was NOT part of the UN partioning, but territory under Isreali control at the time of the attacks.

The Palestinians and their Arab allies chose to attack Isreal the day the Palestinians gained a home land of their own after being part of the Ottoman Empire or under British rule for a long time. if they hadn't attacked, the Isrealis probably wouldn't have control of the whole region now.

The fact they have no homeland is NOT the result of Isreali aggression, but a result of their choice to oppose Isreal's right to exist. The reason they do not have more than nominal autonomy in the occupied territories is because many of them still do not admit that Isreal has a right to exist and aren't satisfied with a "homeland" that doesn't include evicting all Isrealis from the region.

Until the Palestinians make a concertd effort to break the cycle of violence I don't have a great deal of sympathy for them as a people.

I do feel for those who are now paying the price of their grandparent's obdurate opposition to sharing the land with Jews. Thjose who think suicide bomobings and riots are the way to make Isrealis trust them are seriously deranged, and until the average Palestinian stops supporting Hamas and their ilk, they have no right to a homeland.

A "Homeland" is a place to live in peace and safetly, it is NOT a base from which to deprive others of a "homeland" history has proven they need.
