Time for a recount. Personally I'm somewhere between yes and don't care. Just wondering if any of the Gloom and Doomers or Domers have had second thoughts.

Weighing in as one of the more vocal gloom and doomers--I posted that I decided to get over it. And I did.

This forum has found it's niche in the Community as a whole, and my answer is yes, it should continue to exist.

Life goes on.

I'm sure how different the boards really are. I don't care, but I've seen a few birthdays on the old board and more serious discussions here.

I'm in the don't care catagory. If it's here I'll read and post to it, if it's not then I won't obviously. I don't post much anymore anyway.

I do wish to add an additional comment here, and clarify my position. I do think the Boards are different, that each has their own personality and niche within the Community as a whole. I do continue to support the original intent of what both Boards stand for within the Community as a whole, and I am not above asking MissT to consider moving threads that are "serious" in nature to the Talk Board. Frankly, I don't want to see both Boards end up one homogoneous mishmash.

I post just about equally to both Boards. I seldom start threads myself, however, I'd ask that people who do start threads give some consideration to where you are starting them.

A clarification on the Library issue. When I am adding threads to the Library, I add threads from BOTH the Cafe and the Talk Boards.

Flame me if you gotta, but I now that the Cafe is here, and I am over my original pissyness, I will back it up 100% based on its original intent.

i voted the same thing i voted last time: yes

i like the idea of having someplace to post something that one might think is silly or embarrasing without feeling like they're intruding on serious discussions.

I'm with Bunny (in my dreams! :D ) -- I voted yes. I was kind of "yeah, it might be fun, let's see" when it started, and quite vocal about giving it a chance until I gave up on the squabbling.

Well, we've given it a damned good bash, and I think it's kinda fun. We have the one area where I have to put on my "serious Dom persona" to have "deep and meaningful discussions" about life, the universe, and everything. Then we have the other area where I can just relax and put on my silly persona and have fun.

It's good.

So... I've gone from kinda-pro to very pro.

How is what I said interpeted as flaming you?

I personally don't tend to think of the boards as different. Sue me. Same cast of characters, same general theme, same insider jokes, etc. If you want threads moved more power to you.

Whooooaaaaa. Hold up. You totally misunderstand me here Croctden. I am not directing that statement at YOU PERSONALLY, in any way, shape, or form.

I only used that portion of your quote because I wanted to illustrate my point about not wanting the board to become homogenous.

No harm meant.

my vote ...don't care

I still come to Lit and to this forum for the few friends i have on here...but i have moved most of my searches etc to a new forum.
This is and was a good idea and it seems to work out fine for those who use it regularly so i don't see what the fuss was about or could possibly be about now.

Have a good one

I passed on the first vote...

because I didn't know enough then to have an opinion. But I voted yes this time. The two seem two seem to work. It's pleasant to be able to be able to have fun as well as wax philosophic.

I'm a Yes

I think it's a good idea to have an area where people can be silly and playful. I think it's much better than having threads taken off topic or what have you. I also think it's a nice break for some people and a good way for newer people to get their feet wet.

I voted Yes... although I didn't know that it was an issue....
but that's what I get for being a newbie over here heh heh
Anyway, I am having my own fun reading different threads and wouldn't want them squished together yet...

As one of the old timers along with Wizard... I really hated to see the way the forum has evolved... I do think there needs to be a place for serious dicussion and the changes have kept me away from here for a while...

Now I just go elsewhere....

:) Sorry, I didn't see this one had been started when I started my followup thread about it being two months later, and what does everyone think?

Glad to see it seems to have worked out for the best and people like the new forum Laurel created for them. I'm not at all surprised.

Thanks, and you can now go back to where you belong.

Another forum gives us more exposure which cannot be a bad thing. As far as the overlap, that's just an anal thing for the Librarian to sort out.

I think this forum was needed because of all the "so what's this got to do with bdsm?" posts. I personally feel that some traditionlists felt that some posts didn't belong so this forum gives those posts some place to be.
