Should I be excited?

Okay, yesterday I checked Amazon.com and my book, "The Usahar", had a sales rank of about 1,300,000. Today I check and it has a sales rank of 58,249. The book was favorably reviewed in the September issue of the Midwest Book Review.

Does anyone know what these numbers mean? Should I quit my day job? Work on the sequel? Pop open the bubbly? Have an orgasm?

:)

Do you really need an excuse to have an orgasm? :p

Congrats. I don't know what those numbers mean, but they look good. :)

KarenAM,

I have no idea what those numbers mean, either.

What I do know is that you should definitely go down on your reviewer, Peter Weiss.

To have one’s vision described as more mature than the erotic writings of Anais Nin and Anne Rice, is a compliment of no small value. To have one’s work mentioned favorably in connection with anything by John Fowles, let alone "The Collector," is praise of an even higher order. To have both comparisons lavished upon any neophyte author’s first publication makes for a most auspicious beginning.

I do not know whether ebooks make any provision for review excerpts on their virtual covers, but if so, you have at the barest minimum two blurbs which I should be loath to jettison.

No, I am quite certain. You must go down on Peter Weiss. After his abundant approval a hand job would somehow smack of meanness.

But, do not take my word for this. Have others follow your provided link to the Midwest Book Review, so that they might advise you upon your degree of indebtedness.

Orgasm is nice.

Burley has a good idea about going down on your reviewer, too.
wait until I log into Amazon and get mine posted

Eddie The Reviewer

Ps- Sincerely, congratulations, Karen. That is a great review. I would suggest at least popping the bubbly and getting to work on another book.

Is this the bit where we pretend to be Peter Weiss?

Kidding, well done KarenAM - praise indeed.

Can't help you with the numbers, Karen, but an improvement of 2200% can't be bad.

Congratulations.

Start your next novel!

Well I'm excited for you, whether you are or not, though I suspect you are. :D

Congrats, Karen. That's awesome!

I think it's happy dance time....congrats.

ps....I thought for sure Lucky was going to Whoop.

Thanks, everyone! The number has dropped off some, though I understand this is typical. It has energized me to work on the sequel (or in this case, a prequel and then a sequel).

And yeah, being compared to Fowles and "The Collector" is about as high a compliment as I can imagine recieving.

:)

Congrats, Karen!

I'd be cracking the champagne for days!

Really, really glad for you.
