Should Gone With the Wind be banned?

Nothing related to the civil war has been "Banned". A symbol of white supremacist traitors is being removed from official government buildings where it could be seen as lending legitimacy to those ideas. But it hasn't been banned.
Several stores have decided to remove confederate related products from their offerings of their own accord. They haven't been banned. Should a business not have control of what products they do and do not sell?
There's nothing keeping anyone from flying the Southern Cross at their homes, on there vehicles, waving it at parades. If they wish to self-identify that's their choice. It hasn't been banned.
So what exactly HAS been banned?

Yeah, I heard some idiot screaming yesterday that "the government" had banned The Dukes Of Hazzard.
Wingnuts love the free market, right up until the free market decides that kissing up to nuts isn't good business.
Gone With The Wind is a great movie. Nobody in their right mind would want to ban it. Not that there aren't such people.

Sadly, my FB page has exploded with these same morons claiming the same thing - that the Dukes of Hazzard has been banned. While this would not break my heart (because truly there is no accounting for taste), people really need to do some research before stating such ridiculousness.
Banning Gone with the Wind is ludicrous. My issue with it is that the confederate flag was actually the recognized flag of the quasi-government of the South at that time. You would have to basically remove all artifacts from all museums that have a confederate flag symbol on them in order to comply with this silliness. When the "South fell," that flag also should have fallen but didn't and instead has prevailed. Why some government buildings have continued to hang it seems almost an act of defiance, but that is just my personal opinion, and I do think it is time for them to take it down.
To remove the confederate flag completely though is never going to happen.

Well, no, because the CSA got its collective ass handed to it there as well.
More to the point, the movie is about a love triangle involving one decent character and two thoroughly reprehensible characters (though Rhett was likable with his roguish charm), set in in that era.
It's better viewed as document of Southern attitudes by the author and American society as a whole when the film was made. In that regard it's more akin to DW Griffith's "Birth of a Nation" or "Cabin in the Sky", or even Twain's "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn".
