As an editor it's nice to "please" a writer when I return a story a few hours after having received it. Works well for all.
But at other times I'll be busy with other edits or "other commitments" (no, sex not inferred here).
Would help if in the future if writers would identify their works as a "quickie" (less then 5k). Just me expressing my thoughts. I'm sure others will chime in. But this might open some doors.
