Oh how I love shopping day now that we have a good sized chest freezer.

Why is that you ask? It's because now my membership with a large Food Warehouse comes into it's own.

Today we stopped off at the warehouse with a large cooler in the back of the car. We grabbed a cart and made our way through the aisles with a list of things we wanted. (We also grazed as we went, they have many free samples.) Slowly we filled the Cart.

Coffee- Three pounds of Jamacain Blue Mountain and Three pounds of Hawaiian Kona. (Okay the Kona is not pure Kona, then again you can't get pure Kona. They don't sell it even in Hawaii.) This all in beans.

Cappucino Mix- No we don't get this to drink it hot. We use it with ice and make something like the Frapucinos in named Coffee Shops.

Meats, ah now here is where the warehouse comes into it's own.

Steak- a six pack of two inch thick New York Strips.

Ribs- a package of three racks of Short Ribs.

Pork Loin- a Ten pound Boneless Pork Loin.

Chicken- several packages of assorted cuts as well as a package of pre-seasoned Breasts.

Fish- a five pounds package of Tilapia Fillets.

Sandwich meats- three pounds packages of Smoked Turkey Breast, Genoa Salami and smoked Roast Beef.

Bacon- a five pound rasher.

We walked out of there after laying out $125.00 and loaded everything into the large cooler we had brought along just for this.

Yes that's a lot of food especially with their only being two people living here, but,,,,,

When we arrived home we started working. Everything was opened and seperated into meal sized portions. These portions were then vacuum packed and frozen. This one shopping trip gives us enough meals for almost a month.

While we have been members to the warehouse for quite some time we have always had to be careful what we bought. We always had small freezers. Now we can truly buy in bulk and save a fortune.

Time to start cooking, too. Those frozen blocks of "red stuff" ie, spaghetti sauce, chili, etc., will come in very handy on busy days.

I love shopping at a warehouse like that. Just the sheer number of "possibilities" makes me smile. Does that make sense?
