Ugh,

I knew just where I was going with this story and suddenly feel uninspired and stressed out!

I know I have chemistry to work on but this would be a great break if I could just bring myself to do it...

Any cures you want to share with moi??

I hate writer's block. I found though, that it happens when I'm bored or frustrated with the story I'm writing. Something just doesn't hold my interest. But thats me, the wannabe (stress wannabe).

My biggest clue was that you said you felt uninspired and stressed out. Stress cramps anything. Just back off the story, let it rest for a bit and don't worry about it, start on something new, or play tennis or cook roadkill or something constructive, then go back at the story in a bit. The only other approach I've heard of is to force it, make yourself write a sentence or two. Rest, write another sentence or two. You can always rewrite them if you don't like them.

I read of one prolific romance novelist that started stories on occassion that she was sure were real winners, but the characters just wouldn't mix. She would have to go back and rework the whole thing from scratch with a new heroine.

In any case, I wish you the best of luck sweetie, cause I can't wait to read the story. :)

I don't know if this is a cure babe... but look at my photo?

Jade, here's something that another writer suggested to me once. Don't limit yourself to telling your story chronologically. Write the "good parts" first, then fill in the details later. Or, if a particular scene is giving you trouble, go on to something else and return to it later.

I have to admit that I have not tried these techniques, but they make sense. Good luck, you stunning thing, you!

Skibum is right on the money. I probably don't have the credentials to give anyone concrete-solid advice on how to write, but it helps the writing process to run through where you want to take the story in your mind.

Just put it aside for a bit, deal with other things, and get back to it.

Don't stress. It makes it MUCH worse.

Also, in my experience, a story I've had to work too much on is going to be a bad story. If this one fights you at every turn, file the basic idea away and hit the delete key. When it can be told, it will re-emerge.

And the idea of writing the good parts first is excellent!

Wow

Thanks so much your awesome cuties!
I utilized ALL of your responses and am now a lot more stressed out and finally finished my second chapter and have started my third! Yay!

Now... if only someone could help me with kinetics.......
