I've noticed that the 'how are you feeling right now' and the 'confessional' have become general chat threads. We need a long meandering conversation about everything and nothing, thoughts on sexual kinks and practises, relationship issues people may be having, you name it. I or anyone else may from time to time throw a topical debate out here, just to spark intelligent discussion, which is something we don't do enough of around SRPs.

So here it is, the never-ending conversation.

Lol!! Don't complain! My man is the polar opposite. We had family coming to stay, and he insisted that we spend four days cleaning the house BEFORE the contract cleaners came in to do the glass and the floors and bathrooms!!

And no, my house is not that untidy!! He insisted that all the cupboards in the utility be emptied and washed out and reorganised!! It's not likely our guests were gonna want to look in there anyway!! After all the work, I rather wished they had!! To be fair, he's quite happy to pitch in on all the household chores, except the laundry. But when I quite happy with it, he wants it cleaner / tidier! And, in case you hadn't guessed, I HATE housework!!

Yeah, mine too!!

I had someone to come in and help with the housework, but she went on Maternity leave, and then we moved house, and as we still had the first one unsold, cant afford to have someone in. Working full time, having 4 kids, and running a business is no joke, and I hate having to spend all weekend catching up on the housework!!

But I'm hoping to get someone in shortly! Hallelujah!! Me time, here I come!!

I'll admit, I can be a bit of a slob. I leave dishes on the table, I leave my clothes on the couch when I get home from work, and I sometimes forget to clean the stove after making dinner. But I must say that at some point, my minor OCD clicks in and I straigthen up all three areas. I've never expected anyone to do my chores, and I most certainly wouldn't do them poorly in hopes of never having to do it again. That logic is silly to me. (Must be because when I was younger, if I did it wrong, my mother would make me do it again and again until it was done correctly...)

*ends rant and goes off after the rolling cookie, chases it down and starts nibbling on it.* Just cuz I got the cookie doesn't mean the conversation has to end....

And as for your original question, perhaps it is due to a giving personality...or perhaps a need to involve yourself in other peoples' messes and clean them up in an effort to avoid your own? *shrugs*

Everyone has a different threshold for "mess" Most men simply have a higher threshold than females do. I've lived in lots of places with roomates who were slobs to the point it made me not want to live there lol

I tend to do an alright job of keeping things clean, if I can manage to keep them clean I'm in good shape. If it's a big job because it was let go to long or say (The other person in the house is not living up to their end) I just get irritated and let it go.
