We all need to get away from the noise and frustration that infests our everyday life; everybody accomplishes this in their own way. And there always seems to be something between you and your peace, isn't there?

What little things do you do for your quiet time? Besides sex, what do you do to totally relax, that you never seem to get around to doing enough of? What annoying *thing* most often interrupts your quiet time?

Usually, for my quiet time, I write and have a drink or two. What I really love doing is taking a long hot bath, enact a few rituals, and meditate for a good hour or two... I haven't done that in a real long while. :( The thing that usually interupts my quiet time - my family.

The one "thing" that gets in the way is gone for about 5 weeks. So I get to indulge myself and do what I want for a while. Who knows where that may take me. :D

More time playing games, reading, watching movies. Maybe sleeping naked.
LOL

I'm single and live alone--so my whole life is pretty controlled.

But if I'm feeling stressed, I imagine that I'm on Neptune.

Neptune is really far away. Nobody is on Neptune. No people, no animals, no life. Quiet as the grave. I don't want to know what it's scientifically like--I imagine that it's some kind of old-time sci-fi place, with breathable air, a little chilly. The sun shines down in that harsh bright way that you can only experience in the winters of temperate climates. The rocks are rusty colored, like Mars. The rocks and pebbles are scattered around on top of a dusty hard-pack. I'm at whatever temperature feels refreshing--warm in the winter, cool in the summer.

Sure, maybe some day people will vacation on Mars. But I vacation on Neptune.

Hey horny_giraffe

Neptune sounds wonderful...I'm packing my bags!!..lol.

I live alone also..{to get back on planet Earth and this thread}.
So my life is very quiet, at home at least.

But if I need to de-stress, I light a few sweet-smelling candles and turn on some soft, meditative music and do my yoga.
That is the best stress-reliever that I know. And also, a long hot bubble bath.

Great imagery! I'm with espressolover, "Neptune sounds wonderful.."

Good voice...good first thoughts!

Hey Black_Bird, my family seems to have the same effect on me as well.
I love my teens...more in the morning and less on Sunday afternoons. Absence does make my heart grow fonder...and presence(as in a whole weekend of 'quality time') does make me want to travel to Neptune.
Besides sexual escapes, nothing refreshes me quite like exercise. If I'm needing quiet, a good run is the ticket.

I'm not too much into exercize (although, I would love to tighten up my body a bit), but long walks to nowhere are great stress reducers. Gives you time to think, to breath, and to take in some scenery.

Damn I wish it was warmer already! :)

hmmm what relaxes me..gets me in the zone

love to be snuggled up under my blanky...engrossed in a good book, sipping hot chocolate.

or I write, poetry, stories, lust letters.

or I paint/draw

the thing that interrupts me most....well that would be my new baby. It can be frustrating, especially when I'm in the zone. She is worth it, and that's my responsibility.
perks

ohhh..this is the current drawing I'm working on....

hmmmm.... don't have much hanging around here...but as I work on things. <when I have the time> I'll be happy to let you check them out.
and thanks.

Gosh... Perky... that painting in great!!!

Of course I have a thing for nudes... especially those done with taste....

WHat do I do to escape?? I write, whether it is a story or a poem and just a little email to Himself.... and I think way too much... and sometimes I cry... it is a great destresser... and I have a lot of stress in my life... then the cats and I hang out and watch a little tv... nothing too exciting...

Yeah - I think *way* too much myself, but I don't think it's an effective way to relax. And crying? as a destresser? :( When I cry, I'm usually stressed out. I hate to say it, but this doesn't sound very healthy. Forgive me if I come off patronizing. I hope you are okay.

Yes... I am ok... just an occassional sink into the abyss, however, I tend to hold things inside... so when I am frustrated or angry, I cry... gets it all out and I feel renewed...

I have compass points on a board in my shed where I park the harley. I like to throw a dart @ it and whichever direction it lands on is the way I go. Usually I can get away for 5-6 hours like that. unfortunatly it's jan 6th and it's snowing here so thats not an option right now.
