Did you know that men were the first ones to wear high heels? Yes it's true somewhere around 1690 they pranced around in red heeled shoes and were considered quite studly for the prancing. Proably one of Benny Hill's relatives or maybe pp man.

With the holidays comes the parties comes the dressy kinda shoes. Do you opt for those high heeled boots, the wedged up stappy jeweled shoe? I mean what's a girl to do? To heel or not to heel or does a spike really make black ice something she can scoff at not to mention use as a means to get to the bar easier?

How high is your sexiest shoe and are you willing to endure sore feet for that elegant elongation of your lower limbs? What are your feelings on the lethal weapon known as a high heel. Oh and can you run in yours? Inquiring minds want to know.

I prefer strappy, clunky, chunky heeled shoes. Preferably platforms. I hate when I wear a dress that I can't wear them with.

They're comfortable, they look good with my legs and I can run like a fool with them on. :D

I never wear spike heels, but I do wear either thick-heeled shoes or flare-base heels on special occasions. I don't wear heels on a regular basis and I certainly can't run in them. I wouldn't want to either ;)

What she said!

I cannot wear them, as they cause excruciating pain, and within an hour, I can't walk at all. Too bad I can't spray paint some sneaks and wear those!

*sigh* And I have a formal function to go to in a couple of months. What to do?

Ballet type slippers are always appropriate. I won't wear anything that smashes my toes. They are just too yummy to be hurt like that.

How to walk in the heels is more important than the size!

Nothing irks me more than seeing someone plodding down the street in a pair of hign heels or worse yet a weak ankled wobble. Height and style should be matched to the wearer.
Plodding not sexy ......... a smooth glide is.

Just my 2 cents.

Heavens, no! But it sounds like a Paul Simon song, "Diamonds On the Soles of Her Shoes."

I mean what's a girl to do?

Go barefoot? I've always preferred the unadultered foot.

I think I can accomplish both of those barefoot. I think it would be sexy!

About 2 and a half inches, and I've only worn them twice to weddings.

You saw "Single White Female," didn't you? Well, I can't run in them, let alone walk without looking like a twit, but the stillettos make a nice carving knife for Jill the Ripper.

In my youth

I would suffer them. They do look good. Fortunately for me, I was always athletic. I've been told I have beautiful calves without the strain of heels.

I wear them only on special ocassions such as a formal function. Most fun would be prancing for my honey around the bed. If wearing them means gettin' some good nookie, bring on the spikes!

Ah, but he prefers other items for play. :D Dress-up is for big girls, too.

Peace,

daughter

I like comfort but nothing is quite as dangerous looking as a woman with high heeled knee length boots. I wear a three inch heel quite a bit but only a four inch out once and that was to a sit down dinner.

I find the over the knee boots hard to manuver but when I was in Chicago I found this place where the boots are velour and leather and so wearing them is a breeze.

I can run in them but only if it has an ankle strap because my heels are narrow and it is hard to get a great fit.

My favorite pair is a modest two and a half inch boot that is knee high.

I was wondering what guys like best boots or heels?

high heels

They're not just for lengthening legs, but flexing calf muscles , as daughter pointed out. Still, the added wiggle in the walk isn't to be overlooked.
Nothing is worth crushing your toes until they're crooked, though. Moderation.

I wear the heels that are not thin, but the square clunky type. I am short,so I want to be higher, but at the same time, my ankles couldnt handle the strain of the pointy heels.

'fuck me' shoes?

I never have to walk in them ...

my big guy carries me everywhere when I have them on.

*smiles* he loves those shoes!!!

Honestly, I hate wearing shoes. When at all possable, I walk around in slippers or my toe socks, but that's it

I agree with Basia. I prefer no shoes at all! Naked feed topped by naked calfs resting under naked thighs topped by naked.....well you get the idea, I'm sure! ;)

The sexiest shoe or shoes (I have more than one pair) have six inch spike heels. I also have some about that height that are considered platforms.

My feet do not get sore from wearing them, it is something that you get used to.

If I had to resort to violence for some unknown reason the spike heel will take out an eye in a heartbeat.

I have never tried to run in mine. I like being caught so why would I run? ;)

I have included a photo of the kind of heels that I like to wear.

I learned in one self defense class that a spike is great to use in an attack. Slam your foot down on their instep with a three inch spike and it will make them scream for mama!!!  :D :p

I'd like to attend the parties he goes to! ;)

I have a couple dozen pairs of shoes in all colors all with 5 inch heels. I don't know how I ever managed to stay upright in those things, much less walk or run in them. Of course, the goal was to look sexy and end up in a horizontal position anyway.

Now I mostly wear flats or low heels when I dress up. Ginger, it doesn't have to be a self-defense situation when the stiletto shoes I wear make the man scream for mama! ;)

Gingersnap, do you have any special place you buy your shoes? I have the same problem with the narrow heels. Almost nothing will stay on.

I prefer boots over heels. Easier to walk in them, and they are not so prone to slippage.

I love heels, the spikier the better, but due to knee & hip problems, can't wear the really high ones any more. The highest pair of heels I have are 3", black velvet & very sexy. I only wear them to sit down dinner parties. My favorites are a pair of black ankle boots with 2" heels. They look good with everything & I can wear them for several hours. Most of the time I am in cross trainers, much more comfortable & as I am trying to postpone the next knee surgery, much safer.

stilettos, babe

Yeah!!!

I'd like to strut for Humphrey Bogart. Perfect height for tilting. One push, love. Babe tumbles down.

April I struggled with this and finally went to Chicago and had them take a cast of my foot. They made me some three inch heels in the basic black. They are wonderful and worth every penny. I think you have to go to a specialty store for hard to fit feet. Look in the phone book it is worth it to go the extra mile. When a girl's feet hurt can't nothing go right!:D

Heels, heels -- glorious heels.

They are a way of life for me. Besides my running shoes, I don't think I own a pair of shoes without at least a 1" heel.

Because I've worn them nearly all my life, hells really don't bother my feet and I can do nearly anything in them. (one tip for "de-slipping" those heels -- scuff the bottoms on concrete before you wear them the first time....it really helps)

At any rate, I digress. Back to the questions at hand. My most favorite pair of shoes -- a black chunky heel pair almost made like a loafer style.

Knee high boots in black leather, again with a 4" heel.
