Today is Columbus / Indigenous Peoples Day but neither today nor the weekend are special.

I am located a few hundred miles downwind of Seattle near Lake Tahoe; the storm will start blowing in here tomorrow night and drench us for a few days, with snow uphill. It's a bad time for nude sunbathing.

I hope it stays at that level, but some forecasters are saying that the second front coming in Saturday (The tail end of a Typhoon) could be as bad as the '62 Columbus day storm. During that storm winds in one area were estimated at 172 MPH.

If it stays within the forecast: Cool! I'll bundle up and have fun watching it.

If not: Fuck!

We got a good little shower last night.

It's practically dark out from the cloud cover right now and we're expected to get our first few inches of rain here in about 3 hours.

I just hope the damage is minimal and the falling trees/slides/flooding aren't too severe.

I say this as a person who really does loves the NW coast.....that sounds horrible.

This is just the teaser.

In November the sun will go away not to be seen until April~ish and it will just piss on and off like this until folks who just moved here from sunnier parts of the country start jumping off bridges and blowing their brains out.

And I could not be more excited for that season to be here because I'm one of those weirdos who thinks hoodie weather is the best weather.
