Joseph, 10, was born in the north [of Sudan], where his parents had fled because of the war in the south.
But he says he faced discrimination there and was often beaten.
His uncle has now taken him back to the south, although his parents have not followed him.
"I like science because we learn how to keep away from dirt and disease," he says.
