I happen to catch a part of Jeff Foxworthy's "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader" last night.

Where in hell did they find the most ingnorant fucks in American to be contestants on that show? Did they have to fail elementry school to qualify?

The show apparently did extremely well--it's a huge hit. Which I guess means that Americans like watching such people and feeling smugly smarter than them.

This really explains a lot I think. Most of America feels pretty smart at being in 6th grade

On the commute home last night the local radio station did a spoof called "Are you smarter than a talk show host."

It was pretty funny -- the talk show host was 0 for 4 after he failed to identify which planet in the solar system is hottest ... what is the name of a mathematical figure with 2 parallel sides ... etc.

thankfully the callers got these right, so *somebody* knew the answers
