Sexy Superheroes: Is there a demand?

Lots of fan fiction have been written about superheroes, much of it pretty bad, but it does allow the authors to explore the sexy side of these mysterious super-beings, as well as look at their fight against crime! My particular favourite is Batgirl, and I have written several ongoing stories about the Dark Damsel, that are full of sex scenes, but still tell a stirring tale of good against evil!

Do you think that such stories are beneath the sophisticated tastes of your average Literotica reader, or should I submit them?

super sexy...

Not sure if there is a demand or not, however I just saw "Sky High" today, and I must say that I now have a thing for red-headed plant controlling super heroines...

Would love to hear from you, pls send me a PM!

Most of your sophisticated Lit readers (oxymoron if I ever saw one) are stroke victims.... oh my.... that was a little harsh....hehehe... Whatever you choose to write about Angelique is because you were inspired. And Batgirl never did get her due on the show!

Super heros? Sexy?

My god, there's always a demand.

Need I say Mr Fantastic? The potential is there.

Plus I'd love to read something with :catroar: woman in it.
She's pretty smart and fiesty and...and..

MMmmm sexy super heros....
I could see myself being tied up by Wonder Woman's golden lasso.
Or Lara Croft seducing me to get a piece of some ancient artifact.
Granted she's not your typical super hero, but she comes close...
a femme fatal Indiana Jones type, who's good with a very big gun, jumping, climbing and fighting that would rival the moves of any typical superhero, saving the world from some maniacal evil demagogue....

Yeah... I could go for that.

I could see myself reading a sexy Batgirl story. ;)

I'd say so, but you also run in to the danger of going against a reader's preconceived notions of how "their" hero/heroine would act in a situation.

Like, would Superman enjoy anal sex?

Does Wolverine have a soft, tender side, or is he a violent lover?

There are many more possibilities. I'd like to read about them. I think, however, that even if a story is well written, if it goes against the grain of how people think about a super hero, it may not receive good ratings.

As for Mr. Fantastic, if ever a guy was designed for an erotic encounter, it's him. :D

okay...

It would definately help if the writer knew the characters in their preconceived (non-erotic) mainstream continuity. Comic-junkie geeks AKA society's elite first and foremost.

Has anyone ever read Mark Waid's Kingdom Come?

Spoiling the ending why don't I, just to make a point, here goes.

Batman, Wonder woman and Superman are sat round a diner table and order drinks.

Waid perfectly personifies their characters by what they order.
IE-Batman goes for black coffee, Supes goes for warm milk while Wonder woman sticks to the mineral water.

I guess if someone were writing an erotic super hero story this would be the way to go. Take their established natures and personas to the next level. By doing this you're far less likely to upset fans of the characters by making them act out of character even though they are--essentially acting out of character, er if that makes any sense.

My thoughts on the subject anyway.

By the way, Superman would most certainly not be into anal sex. And, please may I remind any potential Superman erotic fiction writers of the holy conversation in Kevin Smith's Mallrats-

"...he'd blow his load like a shotgun through her back."

Dangerous stuff. Need I say more.

Like The Movies

How many Batman movies are there? What are we up to now, four? Not sure, did not see the newest one yet due to a recent trip to a rather unpleasant place. Your tax dollars are hard at work, have no fear.

Anyways, the point I'm making is that whenever you mess with pre-existing fictional characters, such as superhero's and such, you run the risk of not being accepted by "hardcore" fans of that particular hero, or villain. I personally would love to write a story about Batman, or the Punisher. But I am not enough of a comic book freak to get into the widgets of their character. Now, if you don't care that much for all that, I think you can go to wikipedia.org, and get lots of good background, and then bang out a good story. But me personally, I would not feel comfortable with that.

As far as demand goes, I am certain that there is a large demand for this type of story. But just as there was a large demand for XMen movies, the first one still blew chunks (just my opinion).

Let me think...

Five, but that's not including the feature film adaptations of the 60s TV series starring Adam West or some of the great fan films out there, (most notably being the obvious Batman: Dead End.)

And by the way, I think doing research before writing something is where half the fun is. You have to at least try to be dedicated otherwise why bother? Put some heart into it!

Research

Well, that's the thing. I have story ideas that I just want to bang out, just to get the idea out of my head, to put it on screen, to get it from bouncing around my hyper-active imagination. Hero stories tend to fall in that area, because it is not a topic I'm really into, but it is something that sometimes crosses my mind. So doing research would be a bit beyond the scope of what I'm doing.

Now, for stories that I am more deliberate about, I will do lots of research, lots of thinking as to how it all fits together, with multi page outlines and notes and all that. But that's just me...

Hopefully coming soon!

Thanks for all the positive feedback people! Much appreciated. With a bit of luck the first chapter of my first Batgirl story, entitled 'Batgirl Risks All' should be appearing soon? I have tried to use many of the earlier Gotham City characters, whilst bringing the time period more up-to-date.

Sincerly,
Angelique
