Weird idea: how about a story set in a nudist colony, where people wearing sexy clothes would be a turn-on?

Well Funguy, I know what's underneath, so the thrill is kinda lost on me.
Just trying to be funny. Actually I am all over this with you guys. More attention to details about clothes and how they come off or stay on. Of course I would say I am a total show off. I don't think I do any trashy looks, but my skirts are all a bit too short, my dresses slinky and my tops scooped lower or form fitting.
Now as for the fem point of view. I like looking at guys but prefer them looking at me. I think it's a chromosome thing. But I do not, and I think most fems would agree, like guys in revealing or skimpy outfits on guys. A nice pair of trunks at the beach are an exception of course, but they don't look sleazy there. But normally, simple, don't have to be the designer label crap, clothes like pressed khaki pants with a cotton polo, can make this girl's day. With luck my night too. And big wool sweaters on a set of shoulders sometimes make me weep.
One last word guys. SHOES. Clean, simple, not worn out. Never sneaks with long pants except maybe jeans. I can tell more about a man by his shoes than any other thing.

I'm definitely with Angela on this one (especially the sweaters on guys with nice shoulders - picture me gnawing gentle on my knuckles in anquish at the sight!). Yes, I'd love to hear more about those details everyone notices, but most people don't write about (or at least not what i've seen - any recommendations?) ie. if jewelry stays on while she's riding him, the coldness of it as it brushes against his chest. the way hands get stuck in sleeves as you try deperately to take it off without unbuttoning. the way the collar of a woman's blouse/shirt cups underneath her breasts and pushes them up to his mouth. etc etc etc.

Hi Lostsoul Here is a paragraph from my Kimberly Goes Vamp III that I am writing now ( I and II have been submited). Is this a little bit of what you had in mind? If not rewrite it for me as you might like to see it. If I like your input and leave it I will mention you in the story.
One woman who seemed to be partially cloaking her thoughts really had Johnny’s attention. She looked to be in her thirties but somehow Johnny knew she was more than three hundred years old. She was very curvy with what looked like 38DD tits and 38 hips with a 28 waist between them. Johnny was sure he had seen her perfect face on the cover of a magazine or two.
"Hi I’m Keshia, and Kimberly has told me a lot about you but I must say her thoughts didn’t do you justice. Your much sexier than she implied!" Keshia told him. Her dark complection and her brown with blonde highlight hair contrasted nicely with the shimmering gold evening dress she was wearing. The dress was open in front with a vee that went all the way down three inches past her belly button. It reached the floor trailing two feet behind her but was slit on the sides and held together by thin a leather lace that ended at the top of her thigh. Johnny could tell he wasn’t the only person wishing the lace would break. Johnny could feel Kimberly had no worries about anything that might happen with him and Keshia. In fact Johnny could sense Kimberly was thinking of him and Keshia locked in passionate embrace while Kimberly carressed them both.

I think better descriptions of clothing and lingerie can add a lot to stories, but absent something more descriptive than naming a brand or style, it doesn't add anything at all for me. For me, "a fancy lace bustier" is functionally equvalent to "fancy lace underwear" because while I know roughly what a bustier is, I don't know how it differs from a "merry widow" or "corset."

A camisol is a type of tank top, the nightgown you are referring to is called a chemise.
A bustier is a strapless top, a merry widow is a strapless teddy with attached garters, and a corset is like a bustier, but longer.
As for stories with clothing, D'Artagnan has one in his Surrender series (I can't remember which chapter) that is excellently done.

Yes, it can be confusing when other authors don't know for sure what it is they're writing about. I've seen odd jumps from character names to different types of clothing.

Ah yes, Inconsistency -- A subject for an entirely different thread. (probably in the author's hangout or editors forum.)
The research was was fun, even if I did have just a little trouble keeping my mind on business.

I would never argue with a lady about what the correct terms for lingerie are. Especially if she'll demonstrate the differences for me.
