Yesterday, the first two new stories I've written in eight months were released. One of them was in the 'incest' category. This was a first for me.

Well, I was stunned by the readership for incest at Lit. The story has over twenty thousand reads and it's only been out for a little over one day! Twenty Thousand! Can you believe it?

Not being one who likes to pass up opportunity, I was inspired by this response to write a poem about a sexually explicit incestuous encounter to see if any of the story readership would like a poem. Yes, in a way totally self-serving, but I thought it could make a fun experiment.

So, Incest Boy was born late last night.

In further regard to this, I'm thinking of a possible poetry challenge that would encourage or feature sexually explicit poems (After all, we are writing at an erotic story site). Please tell me what you think such a challenge would use as rules.

I don't know what kind of rules you'd use. I don't think there should really be any. The challenge is to write a sexually explicit poem. Though, how sexually explicit? Some of my erotic poetry isn't really sexually explicit. It just suggests that something nasty is going on. Then I have poetry that comes out tells you that something nasty is going on. lol

I'll wait until you decided on rules before I post anything.

I have many explicit poems... that is why I started posting here to begin with. The other site I post on labeled them too intense. I love the idea of a challenge... I'll play. Do we need rules? Perhaps have the links posted to one thread in this forum such as "Poetry Bared... and Be Explicit" A call could be put out in GB maybe as a sticky... Ooh... I like the thought of a sticky call...

Sexually Explicit Poetry Challenge!

By "sexually explicit" not only should a sexual act take place, but we have to get two things into the descriptions:

(1) The details of the sexual act (eg. sticky descriptions, insertion descriptions, etc.) and...

(2) The emotional/mental state of the participant(s). (eg. How they feel, what they see, breathing, heart rate, etc.).

I think as long as these two items are required in a general sense, the explicit part will take care of itself.

Now, it seems like I might need to put something in here for "sexual acts." Perhaps I could just point the participants to the Story Categories and require the sexual content of the poem to use an act from one of the categories.

Let's see, then I guess we could have the other more "poetry-centric" rules, like:

(a) 5 to 12 stanzas
(b) 2 to 6 lines per stanza
(c) No specific sizes are to be used (eg. 36d, 10 inches, etc.)
(c) (What else? Any other rules?)

If those cover it, then I think I have a challenge. What do you guys think? Does that work?

If a poem is going to be explicit and describe an act, does it take 5 stanzas to get there? I'd think explicit would also encourage cutting to the heart of the matter.

Please clarify if 5 stanzas is the minimum. Make it interesting and prohibit tired, overused words like "cum", "cock", "ecstacy", "passion". Frankly, these are so freakin' common they've lost all potency. At least in most poems because the writer relies too heavily on them instead of creating some interesting figurative language and development.

We all fuck and pretty much in the same ways. It isn't easy to say the same thing in a different way. That's the challenge.
I'd like to see someone write about sex in a way that rises above the norm: Boy A, teases, licks, fucks girl B who sucks Boy A, they climax, the end. (((snoooze)))

I don't agree... there should be no rules about content or length... let creativity go where it may... Sex is creative... this site is about being able to express freely... the form should be free as well

You will see that I use all sorts of objectionable words in my work... so with all those rules I would not be able to play...

On the other site I post on I have many veiled poems... speaking about objectionable things which need to slip by the censors... do we need censors here?

We aren't censoring. This is just another poetry challenge. When we have rules, it's to make it more challenging... to make us think of other ways to express an idea. Let's just see what Judo comes up with. This is her thread and her challenge. It's here if you want to participate.

I was just thinking (oh, the pain) but I do understand what just pet is saying. Some challenges have too many rules, and that may discourage some potential participants.
Judo, how about having two options for sexually explicit challenges. You can have one with no rules about stanzas, taboo words, etc... Of course, you need something... It can't just be a sexually explicit poem. Anyone can write one of those and submit it. Maybe the poem has to mention a certain sexual act that the poet can choose from a list. The poem doesn't have to be about it... just mention it. That's one idea.

I totally get what you want and are trying to do, D, with the fine suggestions. I thought of limiting words and decided not to, largely because we are a diverse group and perhaps someone will use what we have seen a million times in a creative manner that I could not foresee.

Also, I don't wish to limit who can participate by making this too difficult. I think the truly creative answers that someone will think of will strike all or most of us as thrilling, hot and sexy. The mundane will continue to be so.

So, no word restrictions and no story restrictions (although, I will restrict it to the kind of sex defined by the categories at Lit).

As far as stanza limitations. You're probably right, why set the minimum at 5? I'll set it instead to three. Your haiku is very funny, OT, but I want more MEAT for this MOTION.

I sort've like this idea, but again I didn't want to limit this challenge. So, what I may do is have a second challenge in a few weeks where we try to do something 'sexually explicit' but with many limitations on what words, story, phrases, etc. may be used. A different challenge from this one.

I don't want to drag this thread off topic, but you might be interested that just as the subject of incest gathers 20,000 reads in a day, try putting the word "haiku" in your title and see what happens.

I'm wondering what kind of challenge you really want. 90% of the stuff on this board is explicit. There's so much dick, ass, cum on this site, it's starting to blend in with the wallpaper. The advertisers would be mortified, but I don't even notice the gigantic dildos anymore.

Folks don't have any trouble being explicit. What is difficult is to write something that is erotic and is not graphic. What is difficult is recognizing the subtle differences between sensual and sexual and erotic and flat graphic depictions.There are differences between graphic and explicit. Something can be clearly sexual and explicit without mentioning body parts and conversely, we can have something chockfull of airbrushed body parts and not be erotic.

What are you asking the poets to write?

I suppose I am a little sensitive about being explicit undercover. The other site I write on is quite puritanical and pussy, cunt, fuck etc are not allowed. I learned how to write undercover... This one is about an affair with a man 27 years my junior and starts with anal rimming, to 69 to hardcore hump and dump (in a nutshell)... It managed to get past the censors there.
