Sexual tension

I've been reading stories from Lit for about two years now, and even though I've loved most of, I've noticed a real lack in most of them of sexual tension.

God! I think that it's the spice of erotica, the almost-contact, the unfufilled lust, the electricity sparking between couples....

The higher you build it, the greater the climax (literally).

Anyway, to all you excellent authors, thankyou for brilliant work, and maybe think of this as a challenge?

I must admit, I haven't read too many stories here as of late (and only have two completed stories here), but you've certainly given me something to think about. I don't think, in the past, that I have had too much tension and build up either. Thanks for the tip! :D

I try that as best I can in my stories .. well story .. my first is posted a couple weeks back.. more soon to follow but I agree the tension built leads to an explosive end result..... keep watching .... soon you'll catch a good one.... and like a voyuer .. a glimpse is all I live for.

Polar ... ;)

There are several good authors who suspend the sex, not just burying it in backstory, but develop a real tension and a "what's going to happen next quality" that others should strive for. I wish this site rewarded those more than others with some kind of mark. I've read those picked as "E" and they were good but not really all that much better than the others with the same number score. I plan on starting a thread of exellence that maybe will highlight these stories.

Writing is hard. Writing well is difficult. And writing well for a diverse and demanding audience who want both intense narrative and intense sex, an audience already primed and expectant when they start reading can be extremely exceptionally tough to do exceptionally well. But the stories here that do captivate are worth sloughing through the standard boy-meets-girl-and-they-fuck-the-end. I wish I could recommend my own here, but the ones I posted once (under a slightly different name) are disappointing now. Good luck, good hunting, and share your thoughts on which ones exceed expectations.

I for one try to include that tention in all of my stories. I agree it is a very inportant part of the writing.
