I'm writing this D/s story and I need to know whether unlit wax candles are dangerous. Can you fuck someone's mouth with them?? Is wax poisonous? (sorry, I had a very sheltered childhood..)
Can you insert candles into the pussy and ass?? (Assuming that the base is broad and flat, like a butt plug) Will pieces break off or something??

Well, I've never had any problem with candles. I even used one for demonstrating a blowjob one time and I'm still here. Yes, they could break of, but I've never had that problem either. You'd have to be pretty rough with it.

It totally depends on the candle. Some are more fragile than others, and I'm sure some contain ingredients that you wouldn't really want in your mouth or genitals.

Thicker, unscented, white or natural colored candles are usually pretty safe in general, and shouldn't raise any eyebrows in your story. They also happen to be great for wax play! :D

I would suggest a tapered beeswax candle. 100% natural plus they've been in use for hundreds of years.:)

An interesting detail you might consider:

The tapered candles (the kind you see standing tall and slim on a romantic dinner table) will eventually soften from a pussy's heat and start to lose their shape and bend. I never went far enough to have one break off, though; I was concerned enough that my once-hard phallus (ten minutes ago) was getting floppy! :D

I have used them from time to time.

I normally have plain unscented candles - not additives! lol

Also, try the candles that taper (ease of insertion) - much better and they often have a corkscrew effect on them......partners have said it provides an incredible feeling!

And candles can be used, as SE notes, for wax play...........

I've actually never done wax play, but from what I've been told by people who have, a normal candle isn't a great idea. There are special BDSM candles that are supposed to have cooler wax that doesn't hurt so much. If you were into trying spanking, you wouldn't start out trying a junior cane, now would you? :D

Um, well I AM experienced in wax play, and I've never bought a "BDSM candle" in my life. Yes, different candles have different temps and some (like beeswax and those with glitter) should NOT be used because they're too damn hot or likely to cause serious burns (e.g. the glitter burning into the skin). I've used religious candles of all colors, tea lights/emergency candles, white, scented soy (which are so cool they're a joke), cream-colored and even dark blue paraffin candles from IKEA. I generally stay away from the darker colors and regular scented candles, but it's not a hard rule.

Basically, I use common sense and test them from a good distance on my forearm after pouring a bit in a dish and touching it to make sure it's not outrageously hot. Then I proceed with dripping the lowest temp candle from higher heights on my sub until he gets used to the sensation a bit, before progressing to more heat and wax. I watch things carefully and keep lots of ice on hand at all times (also because it's fun to play with contrasting sensations).

I've never burned myself or my sub with my non-BDSM candles or techniques.

All "BDSM candles" are are candles that someone has tested and knows won't cause ill-effects when used properly.

Cheap candles are ok. To be on the safe side get a white one with no scent. And a lot has to do with how far the wax drops. Experiment on yourself before you go dripping on someone else.
