I sighed as I walked to the house. My feet were killing me in these heels, and I still had dinner to make. Especially with all of Bill's friends over. I idly thought of calling out for pizza tonight, but decided against it. I would cook something quick.

As I entered the house, I looked around surprised. It sure was quiet. I had expected music, a loud TV, the boys throwing a ball around the yard, something. There was no note either.

"Bill?"

I dropped my briefcase and purse on the dining room table, and hung my coat over the back of the chair, and walked to the stairs.

"Bill? Are you up there? Is anyone home?"

Now where did those boys get to?

I shrugged and went into the kitchen, taking off my earrings and settng them on the counter. Looking in the freezer, I pull out a ham roast and put it in the microwave to defrost. Hmm, macaroni and cheese should go well with that. Hi carb food. The boys always have so much energy.

I continue moving about the kitchen, getting dinner ready. I figure they will be home soon enough. I grinned to myself as I heard my heels clicking on the floor. Now why was it, I wonder, that they felt so horrible at the office, but were fine at home? Maybe I just hated my job?

A noise attrached my attention. "Boys? Is that you? Bill?"
