While I am new on the "board", I have, in fact, been writing stories and poems and lurking about for 4 or 5 years... Having a friend who hangs with you AHer's, I generally keep up with all the good and interesting folks about the joint.

And while I appreciate the many interesting and occasionally highly charged discussions and rants to be found here, I have always thought it a bit odd that the one topic I would think could be a common denominator with all us past or present porn writers (at some point, I assume it was brought us all here), would be an compelling interest on the subject of sex in our various societies.

Having said that I have now noticed the thread on the brothels in Amsterdam, on my personal list of the best cities in the world, even if I have no desire to patronize a brothel there.... But this is the kind of thread I think we might need here! So I will continue....

Moreover, I would hope this discussion be both entertaining and devoid of both the political bias and the prejudice which seems to spring from it.

One of my favorite movie lines is from the Cohen Brother's "The Big Lebowski"..."You know Walter, not everything is about Vietnam"

So please check your political affiliations and presumptions at the door and let us ponder together the great unifying subject of us all... Sex and it's impact on society.

As a start.... The first thing I do each day on Lit, is to review the Sex in the News compilation, only the politically tainted stories of which typically find voice on AH.

What can I say about this one? Other than remember my best friend from High School driving into Montezuma Swamp with his new Mustang convertible while receiving his first blow job. Sex is.... distracting. There is a safety tip in this story, my AH friends, pay heed.
In this particular news item, I suspect the accident was more likely caused by the driver adjusting his mirror than the instability caused by couple in the back seat having sex as is alleged. But then, I wasn't there. Damn it.

I am sorry…. But I see this as a decidedly unhealthy trend in our society. Branding what strikes me as simple childhood sexual curiosity (am I and the other boys and girls down my street the only ones who played “Doctor” at a very young age?) In ages past this would have handled with a quiet discussion on appropriate behavior, and not as a “sex crime”. I pine for those "good old days".

I think I read this story on Literotica. Except she only acted 16 but was, as clearly stated, 18.
For the record… I am against sexual abuse of children on all kinds of levels. But “consensual” sex with a 16 y/o…. Hmmmm. Nope. I don’t count that as sexual abuse… Probably didn’t count as good sex either, but again, I wasn’t there. Thank god he only got a slap on the wrist. Four fucking years in jail!
And while I invite your comments…. Don’t go there. I do have two daughters who both survived being teenagers. I am confident they had sex… and maybe with some b/f’s father… but I don’t want to know about it. As long as they are happy, which they are, thank you, that’s good enough.
I will grant you that a 16 (and a 15 y/o in the story) girl wanting to have sex with a 40 y/o guy is worth someone talking it over with them….. Suspect problems at home.. but who knows? We all mature at different rates. Some of us never grow up. (Just thought I would beat you to it, Amicus).

This story clearly does not belong in the BDSM section where saying “Yes, Sir” is required.
Other than that it is kind of the same situation as the one above, except with the added and compelling difference of the abuse of the Teacher’s power and responsibilities.
He definitely should not be allowed to be a teacher. Teachers should only be those who actually do not like kids. Mrs. Braddock didn’t like kids. She would make me stand in the corner with a trash basket on my head for acting up in class. I guess the school system could not afford “dunce” caps.

Although our society has turned it into mostly an "atta boy" for the guy, a 14 year-old having intercourse with an adult is not the carefree happytime that many portray it to be. If it was, then it would be perfectly fine for it to happen to a girl as well (if we could get past the whole, "She's damaged" crap). Yes, when I was 14, I would have loved to have a sexy, mature woman teach me all about sex. But then again, it would forever alter my perceptions of what relationships were supposed to be about. No, it's not the worst thing that can happen, but don't we have enough stupid guys out there who treat women like shit? There has to be a standard (subjective as it might be) that we abide by, otherwise we'd have adults having sex with preteens.

The funny thing about this is, if you ask a hetero male (or often a female) if they think this situation is OK, they'd say sure (maybe even with enthusiasm). However, if it was a gay male having sex with a 14 year-old boy, you see people's opinions change really quickly.

But clearly, as the story describes, our society currently does not treat this as an "atta boy"... but will throw the woman in jail.

And please.... while I am not advocating that older adults should have sex with teenagers....Nor would I suppose having 2 15 y/o's fumbling in the back seat represents some healthier form of sex and somehow represents an improved experience for both... I do not think EITHER is a compelling social need requiring the intervention of our criminal justice system. It seems to me it would be best left with the families and individuals involved.

And I would agree about the need for some standards... and the one you suggest, having sex with pre-teens seems like a compelling social need! So why is that not the standard? Why 18? or 16? Given the variations in puberty and adollescence any arbitrary standard is probably not exactly right but pragmatically necessary.

Anyway.... that is only my opnion.... and I appreciate yours.

Oh and your point about the gay male was pretty spot on, I think you may be generally right.. and it gave me pause. But perhaps... that is only our/my lack of tolerance about homosexuality acting out. It would, in a better world, make no difference as regards to the behavior being right, wrong or indifferent.

Interestingly, the amount of punishment the woman receives for these things seems tied to how "hot" she is. I sat and watched news shows debating the "victimless crime" of really attractive (but obviously disturbed) older women having sex with teenage boys (the Debra LaFave case in particular). Very few of the commentators were really outraged and demanding punishment. It's not exactly exhaulted, but I'd say prison time is the exception in these cases.

Jail is too often the knee-jerk reaction from the authorities. Every once in a while you see a judge come up with something really clever that might help make a difference instead of just providing punishment. But you're right, it's all some people can seem to come up with.

WOODLAND, Calif. (AP) -- A dentist accused of fondling the breasts of 27 female patients is trying to keep his dental license by arguing that chest massages are an appropriate procedure in certain cases. Mark Anderson's lawyer says dental journals discuss the need to massage the pectoral muscles to treat a common jaw problem.

Police say Anderson said during recorded phone calls that he routinely massaged patients' chests to treat temporo-mandibular joint disorder, or TMJ, which causes neck and head pain.

Attorney Robert Zaro told administrative law judge Jonathan Lew at a hearing Thursday that he should let Anderson keep his dental license while disciplinary appeals proceed. Anderson would be supervised by two assistants and would no longer do the chest rubs, Zaro said.

Zaro said Anderson, 48, of Woodland, needs to keep seeing patients so he can feed his seven children and pay for his defense.

The judge made no immediate decision.

Lew suspended Anderson's dental license last month. He was charged with two misdemeanor counts of battery and sexual battery. Yolo County prosecutors are investigating complaints from more than two dozen women who say they also were groped in the examining chair in the last five years.

Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Phillips gave Lew three new complaints, including one from a 31-year-old woman who said Anderson fondled her at least six times over two years.

She took to wearing tight shirts with high necklines, "and Anderson would still get in under her shirt and bra," according to a police report.

Setting aside the remarkably creative defense..... I guess I was most impressed by the "victim" who had to return to this guy five more times... just to make sure he really fondled her, I suppose. "Well.... I bet if I wear a tight shirt with a high necklines......"

The sex with teenagers hysteria is of recent origin. In 1925 Florida changed the age of censent from ELEVEN to 14. In the 60s I fucked 15 year olds all the time and no one gave it a second thought.

The present situation came along because so many teeny boppers were pregnant by older men. But OLDER MEN is a misnomer. If both people were in high school and one of them was 18, he was an OLDER MAN. And plenty of these dudes went to jail and are tagged as SEXUAL OFFENDERS.

I counseled a married couple where the husband was a SEXUAL OFFENDER. They had sex when she was 17 and he was 18. Her parents prosecuted him. He went to jail. They got married when she turned 18. Sex offender counseling was a condition of his probation.

What happened is society took a real problem, unwed teens with children, and made it an industry that employs countless cops, social workers, therapists, judges, etc. This is how crusades generally turn out.

Underage sex, as opposed to outright pedophilia - i.e., a person over the age of consent doing a pubescent person under the age of consent, as opposed to a pre-pubescent ought to be a different class of crime.

It is crime mainly because we consider those under the age of consent to be less empowered, more suceptible to coercion, blackmail etc., and this is true - I've read plenty of stories of date rape, getting a girl drunk and taking naked pictures then blackmailing her to have sex, etc., and I'm sure there is a whole range of milder but equally effective techniques, i.e., it opens the door for abuse in a culture already obsessed with youth and the unblemished perfection embodied fleetingly by adolescents.

You could argue that if there were no shame involved, that would remove both an avenue of coercion and make it easier to report abuse, though of course there still remains the problem that the victim here is often the aggressor - those hormones, ya know - historically, when girls go through puberty, they start thinking about having babies, it's just the way it works hormonally, and before pubescents under 18 were considered "children", trapping a guy into marriage by getting pregnent was considered an unethical, but effective way of getting a baby and man to help take care of it.

Times change, shotgun marriages are out of vogue and the welfare system (American) no longer rewards women for babies born out of wedlock, but I do believe there should be a legal distinction between clearly criminal motives and your basic poor judgement.
