Texas was too damn hot for her tastes, not saying New York couldnt get bad in the summer sometimes but this was way too much.
Barbara Charlotte sat on her extensive front porch sipping on an iced tea watching the world go by. Still she was amazed where she was. This was a far way away from where she came from. There was no blaring 24 hour traffic, no subtle sound of sirens in the background..and unfortunately, no all night chinese restraunts, no glamorous art openings, no great opera, no country club.
She was a city girl and a properly raised one too. You could call her a 'ritch bitch' if she was one, but she was never aloof or snobby, at least to those she knew.
Her husband had just been promoted to Vice President of the whole damn company, but unfortunately it meant them moving out to this suburb outside of Dallas ..for..god knows how long.
No lavish home, they hadnt had time. Just a very nice house in one of the nicer neighborhoods. She knew she had the best house in the neighboorhood, but to her it was just as equivalent to their summer home in the Hamptons.
Plus her hubby, Ronald, was never home, business trips that would take him all over the country. Normally she wouldnt complain, she always had friends in New York..but this wasnt new York.
She stretched her lithe 5 foot 4 frame across the chaise lounge and slipped on her shades. Her light brown hair slipped over one shoulder and her green eyes hidden by the armani shades she wore as she poured into her Simone deBeauvoir.
Little did she know that in a few days, she would no longer be the prim and proper housewife she once was...
