In my twenties, the ratio was about 33% for all three. Now it's about 50/50 between Sex and Rock'n'Roll, with zero percent Drugs.

I think by the time I get to my 80's I'll be 100% Rock'N'Roll. And a happy old geezer.

How's your ratio changed over the years?

I don't listen much to current sounds. Probably because my brains are scrambled and can't drive a keyboard well except when classical-jazz-newage-drone sounds waft about. When I'm not trying to think, rock is fine. Meanwhile, sex and drugs are still up there.

So far it hasn't changed.

100% sex. Hell, I've been known to give up eating and sleeping for sex, and even safety and security a couple of times, much less drugs (which had no real interest to me) and rock and roll.

?Well, back in the day, it was Rock'n'Roll first, on account of the strictures on sex in force at that time [and I was far too young & innocent to be knowledgable about such things]. Unless Alcohol could be reckoned a drug, in which case, it was Drugs & Rock'n'Roll; in that order.

Yeah...

When I was young, it was 80% sex, 20% rock & roll.

As I got older, it steadied out to 60% sex, 40% rock & roll.

Now, in my senior years, 20% sex, 80% rock & roll.

Was never into drugs...did pot a few times, but didn't really like what it did to me. As for others...no thanks. A beer and a shot were good enough, but only one.

Rock On

For us it never was drugs. We were having too much fun having sex while listening to rock and roll.
Hell I drive a '55 Chevy and we're still living in the 50's.

I still remember my dad's '55 Chevy two door sedan. I wish he had kept it, except for battery troubles, it always ran.

It used to be sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll.
Then it was AIDS, crack, and techno.
Now it's Depends, ExLax, and hearing aids.

Or so I have read.

Ian Dury and the Blockheads - still one of the best live acts I've ever seen. Punk rock is not normally my tipple. I'm a post bop jazz fan through and through. But a friend saw the Blockheads performing at a North London pub and said: 'I think you'll like these guys.' And he was right. :)

Saw them on TV one night.
I was very impressed; not that I'd listen to much in the car on a long trip mind.

But I like this:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBIRj3JW3h0

Do too many drugs and they lose their potency. They become unfun.
Too much sex and it becomes habitual. It becomes less fun.
Too much Rock n Roll? I don't think it's possible.

Delve into the past. I'm hooked on Jeff Beck and Imelda May channeling Les Paul and Mary Ford. Proto-rock, Les's guitar overdubbing was. Go for Ike Turner on Rocket 88, or any early solid-body guitar bashing. An instrument is most interesting when people ar just learning to use it.

Sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll.

I really like to combine the two of these three. One I learned to live without. The other two? Well I wouldn't consider that living.

I've play r&r, country, rockabilly, blues, folk and ska as a bassist.

No drugs involved that I can recall, but after one casual gig with a country-folk player many years ago I met a sweet blonde and we went back to her place for some muff diving and cock sucking.

It was great. And it was the only occasion in 45 years of playing music that I ever picked up a girl at a gig and had sex.

So it was sex and (no) drugs and (no) rock and roll.

Medical questionnaire: Are you allergic to any drugs?
My answer: I dunno, I haven't tried them all yet.

Let's see, heroin puts me to sleep. Cocaine numbs my nose but doesn't speed me up. Meth just makes me nervous and I fall asleep after a strong coffee. OTC painkillers don't do much for me but prescribed medical cannabis helps a little. LSD gives me sharper vision, not hallucinations. I'm pretty much a helpless case, drug-wise. Hot cocoa is nice.
