We remember.

I sure you are being ironic and all, but for me never will buy shit from Mitsubishi, They have to much American blood on their hands, 75 years still too soon, my Uncle Bob never came home from Okinawa.

No lanceepoo was being a troll! It's his thing.

But we are talking 75 years ago. There are veterans from both sides who have long ago met and made up.

You would perfectly understand citizens of Hiroshima and Nagasaki disliking US products in their town? How about native Americans showing their displeasure on Thanksgiving? Still have a grudge against the Vietnamese people?

Not many wars are started by popular demand of the people. I doubt the Japanese people were made aware of their fascist leaders intentions. And corporations profiteering from war is very old news.

War is just politics.

We'd already been busy for a couple of years by that point.

I'm kind of amazed that you Yanks don't want to forget Pearl Harbour. One of the biggest bitch slaps in history. Lots of incompetence and complacency to go around when portioning out the blame. A pure stroke of luck the carriers were not in port at the time.

Not a proud moment in US history, IMO. Tragic loss of lives due to complacency and incompetence.

Having actually once owned a Mitsubishi automobile, I can tell you that is an even better reason not to buy a Mitsubishi product.

 It's time to move on.

His brother was killed at Pearl Harbor and my father moved on, significantly, in the early 70's. Probably before that, but that's when he bought a Toyota.
The Germans tried to kill him in the Atlantic and the Mediterranean for 3 years, yet he bought a Volkswagen in 1956.
He realized that holding a grudge is one of the things that leads to war, like WWII.

Was he killed by a Mitsubishi-made Zero, or does your embargo extend to all Japanese products?

What about BMW's or Mercedes?

Jews don't seem to have a problem with driving a Benz.

Wow, that's when the congress still needed to consulted before going to war...

That's when war was still declared. Stupid thing to do. Why give your opponent a heads up?
Thats from a time when governments still wanted people on both sides to think they were civil, respectful and rational.

That's really dumb.

My dad disliked the Japanese due to high death rate in POW camps. 20% died while in Nazi camps 10% died. And in German camps that was close to wars end when Germans were starving as bad as prisoners. Didn't stop him from buying a Toyota though.

We threw pretty much innocent Japanese immigrants and even 2nd generation citizens into internment camps. So how about we call it even steven?

Eleanor Roosevelt speaks.

For months now the knowledge that something of this kind might happen has been hanging over our heads. And yet it seemed impossible to believe, impossible to drop the every-day things of life and [undertake the] one thing which was important: preparation to meet an enemy, no matter where he struck. That is all over now, and there is no more uncertainty. We know what we have to face and we know that we are ready to face it. . . . We must go about our daily business more determined than ever to do the ordinary as well as we can.
