Did anyone see the A&E Biography on Seasame Street tonight?

I thought it was great. Very nostalgic and bittersweet. I cried when they talked about the show when Mr. Hooper died. I remember watching that episode.

I grew up watching Sesame Street. Now, in my mid-twenties, the show is still going strong. I can't think of any other show that has been on the air, with as much success as that one.

On biography.com they asked who your favourite Sesame Street character was/is. My favourite are the 'Yup-Yup' Alien thingies. Remember those things? Yupyupyupyupyup uh-huh!

I really enjoyed the show. I was just wondering if anyone else caught it and what your thoughts were.

Alas, I was in my teens when Sesame Street premiered, so I missed out on the real magic. However, I love the Count.

WitchsKat watched it, though.

Did you know that the guy who 'plays' Big Bird (and Oscar as well) is 67 years old?!?! The show mentioned nothing about him retiring or anything either. Amazing!

Damn Damn damn...

I wanted to watch that... Did anyone notice if it is on again soon I have to catch it.

If you have a satellite dish, Ezzy, and you can get both east and west feeds of A&E, try checking the west feed right now! (As in 3am, eastern time). I think they repeated it at midnight on the eastern feed. (I watched it on the western feed at 11.) Two hour show. Other than that, I haven't a clue when they might air it again. Check the website. http://www.biography.com

What an excellent show!!
I've always loved Seasame Street and the Muppets.
Who would have guessed that Elmo is a 6'2", 200 lbs black guy. That was just so cool to find out.
I miss Jim Henson though :(

I love Kermit the Frog. Does anyone watch Comedy Central? Jon Stewart interviewed Kermit the Frog on his show. It was hilarious. Also, on VH1 there was a special on all the musical stars that appeared on the show. Also very good.

Anyone remember David, one of the human actors? On the IMDB, it says that he died too, although no mention of it was made on the show. Apparently, he succumbed to stomach cancer, and he kind of lost it right before he went. Something about him running down the street bare ass naked, eating grass and shouting "I'm David from Sesame Street!" Unfortunate.

Sesame Street and I are the same age...I watched it up until my kids were all in school all day. *sigh*

My fav has always been Grover :) He just looks so cute and cuddly - I want to take him to bed. I can, actually. I've got a little stuffed Grover that's great for snuggling.

ok I'm getting a wee bit lost here ...

.... can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?

Cookies ..... me want cookies ...

i always thought that Ernie was way smarter than Bert ... what do you think?

heehee! Yupyupyupyupyup... UH-HUH!

Of course Ernie is smarter than Bert. I think that's why Bert was so stressed all the time, even he knew that.

For me... I went through phases on the favorite: Oscar, his pet worm "Slimy," or Snuffy

Nowadays it's GOT to be COOKIE!

Ah, good ol Sesame Street... an American Icon.

I remember having a tape... soemthing like "Singing along with Sesame Street" Good ol songs like "Rubber Ducky" and "C is for Cookie"

I always loved Kermit when he interviewed that Composer... lol

But, my favorite character...hmm... tough one. I kinda liked that two-headed monster.

strange but my favourite wasn't a person but one of the cartoons....that pinball one that counted up to 12, you know if I count to twelve while singing that tune my little sister still laugh's....and she's 30....!

Anyone see that Dave Chappelle comedy bit about Seseame Street? "You see what thier teaching these kids these days? Look at Cookie Monster...he's a damn Junkie. Look at the Count...he's a pimp, cape and everything"

Thanks for the fun memory, you've brought on for me!

I love Sesame Street, Grover was my favorite.

I have my own copy of the Grover book "There is a Monster at the End of This Book." and they came out with a sequal to the book with Grover and Elmo called "There is Another Monster at the End of this book"

My 2 year olds favorite is Elmo.

She has Sesame Street tub toys and calls Ernies rubber ducky "Rubbie Duckie".

Oh and I loved the guess which one doesn't belong song....that song still pops into my head every now and then.

ONE OF THESE THINGS IS NOT LIKE THE OTHER!!

Yes, Outsider!! I still sing that too! LMAO
