i got word that it was off. unofficial of course but pretty reliable.
by the way, i spent my last two years in the air force drivin' fire trucks at carswell. pretty good duty there and ft. worth was as good a militarty town as i ever saw.

Hello everyone!
As some of you know, ARaynes had a family emergency and PMd everyone who had RSVPd for the picnic that she'd be unable to be there. If you remember, a while back we'd already gone round about whether to have it when she'd be there or not and everyone had decided that it wouldn't be right to have it without AR.
Because of that previous decision, I believe everyone assumed tomorrows picnic was OFF, once AR announced she couldn't go. I can PM you the list of people who said they were going if you want to contact them & see if they still want to meet.
I've been really sick this week and wouldn't have been able to make the trip anyway. Bluesboy is a bit bummed because one reason for his current trip to Texas was to attend the picnic.
I'm sure there'll be another one planned soon. Seems to me, Nike, if you want one, CALL IT, and they'll come. I would vote to not let too much time elapse between the CALLING and the HAPPENING.

Well, hell. I am free Thursday through Sunday this week. Its rare that I actually get 2 days off in a week let alone 4. =)
How would anyone feel about this Sunday (Sept 15)? Or would that be too soon? Where would people prefer to meet? Dallas or Austin? I'm 1 1/2 hours away from both.
I gues if you're interested post here or PM me and we'll see if we cant get something planned.

Nike, 2-3 weeks is enough time for folk to clear their schedules, arrange transportation and housing if they have to travel.
Someplace keeps telling Sandia and myself that we've been elected to do something in Austin, but we were going to wait until after the Dallas thang was over. Well, I decided that. Sandia grunted and ordered another margarita, I think.
With high holidays and a trip at the end of the month, I'm pretty much booked through September. Well, that and I'm too freakin' lazy to get off my butt and do anything on a large scale until October.
If you wanna do something quick and painless and slapped together, that's another story and I could get behind that. *smiles*
