Possibly. Polls don't look good for him. Mourdock is a crook though. Even if he wins in November (which is not a gimme) he probably wouldn't last more than a term.

Why would you say that? They say the only thing a crook learns in prison is how to be a better crook. I wouldn't think there would be any reason why that isn't true for the Senate as well.

Until he wins then he'll move like Lugar and all the others. It was a bullshit campaign issue that happened to work this time just because of Lugar's longevity.
The Tea Party was merciless in this campaign and Lugar doesn't usually fight dirty so he was at a disadvantage. He tried to fight back but it just wasn't his kind of campaign. I always kind of liked him so I'm sorry to see him go but it's sort of his own fault.

The latter, I suspect. Not that it matters. Sharron Angle was scary. I'm fairly anti-leftist on a number of issues, but the Right's immigrant-phobia is downright chilling at times. That being said, Harry Reid is a crook and he did steal that election.

I doubt that Lugar was anything more than a fallen member of the Old Boys' Club. His day has come, just as Specter's, Stevens', Bennett's, Roth, etc. came. They all have to go, sooner or later. I'm looking forward to Schumer's downfall. I hate Schumer's anti-gun mania. That's one of my biggest issues with the Left, just as immigrant-bashing is with the Right.

But, naturally, as an anarchist, I dislike anything that increases the State's power, regardless of the idea. I used to have a blind spot on abortion, but I decided that I needed to stop making exceptions.

If it was still 2010, he would probably be home free (Indiana had an open Senate seat that year, and the Republican empty suit won easily). But it's not 2010 any more.
