Trent Lott appeared in a daring off-the-shoulder strapless by Donna Karen, while the senior senator from Massachusetts modelled a whimsical two-piece and wrap from Prada's summer swimwear lineup.

Watch Teddy Kennedy in a two-piece? You'd only do it once. After that, you'd have clawed your own eyes out.

nah, I would go to the mirror, take my shirt off and do that man talk thing...

"Damn, maybe I don't look so bad...yeah...hell yeah! Damn straight, somebody bring me a sorority girl and some handcuffs!"

And here I was, trying to relax enough to get back to sleep.

Not gonna happen now.

Thanks Shang. I'll do something nice for you, when the time is ripe. ;)

Lott's look was so 1990's. I can't believe his wife let him leave the house in that dress.

I  you, Shang. :D

I'd definitely watch senate hearings if they were more like Project Runway. Can you imagine Michael Kors giving his catty reviews of everyone's outfits? "What's up with the 80's power bitch shoulder pads? Oh, plueeeze!" :D

I watch about 12 minutes of c-span at a clip, then realize no one is going to really say "Who the fuck are we kidding? We're all in it for the money and cheap sex. Let's own up to it and level with the public."

One honest politician, just one and I'll vote for that party forever.

eeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!
chai tea tastes AWFUL coming through the nose!
Damn you, Shang! :)

Why is it I have a picture in my mind of Teddy (Chappaquicdic) Kennedy, Jimmy Carter and Clinton, (Bill) in a threesome with Hillary shaking a finger?

Perverted, I guess...(but then, Liberals will do anyone, or any thing[interns included]

doncha just luv amicus?

chuckles...

I've got a picture of Stevens and Byrd doing a striptease stuck in my head now.

The 2006 State of the Union Address will go down as one of the most disappointing moments in American fashion history.

Would it have been just too too fashion-forward to ditch the neckties? Where's the leadership? Come on, people. If a single-party majority in the Executive, Judicial and Legislative branches can't take a few risks with color and fabric, what hope is there for proponents of real change? Where were the tie-less suit looks? Where were the skorts?

Because all of those people have had sex?

Chuckles...Shereads, you be a gas....

Even during the heydays of the 'freelove' generation, all conservatives wore 'suits'.

The 'Bohemian' aspect of culture is nested firmly in the bosom of liberals because they have little respect for tradition and convention, but prefer to wax progressive and secular.

Each coin has two sides, I suspect and each never, ever, sees the other side, following the coin allusion...

amicus...

Old school, I bet the others were wearing Sears and Roebeck. What happened to Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney? (I love my RUSSIAN Queens (Nina Hagen) and femme fatale Hitchcock chicks).

Yes, and some of us haven't forgotten that conservatives tried to insinuate themselves into the counterculture by inventing the 'leisure suit.' You bastards! Tens of thousands of innocent people suffered from leisure suit blindness after repeated exposure to that shade of powder-blue doubleknit polyester. Then you added white contrast stitching and caused seizures in children and the elderly. How do you live with the shame?

And the shoes. Oh God, the shoes!

Amen! If a party monopolizing all three branches can't dare a good frock coat and razor shades look, who can?

As for waxing anything - could we please start with the senior senator from Massachusetts? Really, you'd think someone would tell him before he left the house.
