This is actually very interesting. The Georgia senators will have to go on record as to whether their own state's voters, more of whom were for Biden than for Trump, committed fraud or not. Saying, "You all are cheaters. P.S. Please vote for me!" is gonna be tricky.

It would be one thing if they could win without any Biden voters (and since turnout in a runoff is hard to gauge, maybe they can), but it's not a gamble I'd want to take.

this move means all senators(?) have to publicly state their support--or lack of--for this trump show. it can do something important: it can make the real republicans (all too many of whom have let trump go unchecked) stand back up for democracy and the real republican party... which will put them in direct contrast to those trump-sucking looking for some political future via the influence of the impeached loser.

it can mean a reclaiming of some sort of republican sanity IF the majority stand up and vote for reality; it may just save the republican party as something more than liars, idiots, qanon-ers.

The two houses then vote separately to accept or reject the objection. They then reassemble in joint session, and announce the results of their respective votes. An objection to a state’s electoral vote must be approved by both houses in order for any contested votes to be excluded.

Objections aren’t even likely to get a majority of support from the Senate.
