So what does a slave go for?

If they are truly property. I guess it depends on a number of factors. But if we sold cat on ebay what would be the opening price, and the winning bid? And what would your perfect slave be? College educated and 22? Or would you go for the older broken in type?

Can you really sell slaves on eBay?

Or did you just dream this up for a laugh?

Good that I understand fully, your sense of humor.... LOL.

you can sell anything on ebay :)

Hm... I'm gonna auction my NaDa software and see how much I get for it.

I think you could if you did it in a manner that ebay could tolerate.

Maybe if you made it clear that this slave was for "novelty" only. Or if you made clear that it was 100% consentual. I'd also make it a closed auction that only invited people could bid.

I think there could be ways to do it if anyone was serious, or just wanted to see how far they could push ebay. Careful though, you may end up being national news ;)

There are a lot of hot Russian chicks that could drive the price down. And slavery still exists in Africa, but I'm interested in the white market. I bet you could buy a homeless girl for less than 10,000.

Think you might be going to get away with it for long. Francisco put a story on the Interesting News Thread a few weeks ago of just such an incident that went on for 10 days on ebay before being removed. White slavery is alive and thriving in Europe though.

You may jest........

OK, so my curiosity got the better of me, so I had to go and check.......

I found the links below......

Im not sure if they are serious or not, and I know they are not necessarily talking about full time ownership or the D/s lifestyle, but if they can get away with it, I dont see why it can't be done for a true D/s slave!

Wonders will never cease!

All the ebay examples were males offering a day's work, ostensibly.

I found no results for 'female slave' or 'woman slave' except in figures, books, cd's etc.

I'd say it would have to be disguised.

Like I said, they are in no way connected with our lifestyle, however, I do find it interesting that these were all on the UK Ebay, I checked the US Ebay and found nothing of the sort, unless different search criteria needed to be checked other than "slave".

Who knows, maybe offering services or slaves would be something that is more acceptable here across the pond? -or just as yet unregulated.

But I know this......... as a wanna be slave myself, I think I might find it hard and upsetting to find myself on sale to another Dom/me who I might not respect as much, or just not know to trust.

I'm sure no one needs reminding of the wierdos that find their way here, and ebay is open for the whole world to see!

---- unless of course, like suggested it was a closed auction

Anyway, I'm going to go and deal with the mixed feelings thinking about this has created........

I used to go on another BDSM site periodically. In one of the chat rooms a bunch of us regulars decided to have a slave auction. Slaves put themselves in the auction (with descriptions of them and what they would be willing to do ... usually cyber or phone). There was a specific time frame in which bidding would take place (with fictitous dollars, something like a max of $20k). The dommes/doms had to sign up as well and then during those few hours the bidding went on.
Interesting dynamics - deals being swung, doms pooling monies, etc.
Everyone had some fun ... virtual fun I guess.

This site discusses the sale of slaves and 'registering your slave'

Mmmm, well I have been registered there for over 2 years and as they say, they have had it suggested to them to add slave auctions to their site, but don't see it as controllable or consensual which they promote. That being said, there are places where it happens for real and in a BDSM context.

Weird story

Earlier this week a man (?) contacted me via yahoo. He had gotten my IM name from a local BDSM group (only place I use that name).

He told me he was looking for a sub to train and sell. Wanted me to submit and application. He is completely against slavery, only wants a submissive.

It was one of those moments where you tilt your head, close one eye and see if you read that right or not.

Someone tried to sell a student on eBay I believe, in the UK! :) It was for a bit of fun and radio stations got hold of the story.

It was taken off eBay, you can't sell humans.

Perhaps you didn't have it searching in the Mature Audiences section? I think you need to give a credit card to prove you're over 18 before you can see that area.

This is, of course, prohibited. From http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/remains.html -
"Humans, the human body, or any human body parts may not be listed on eBay."

I checked to see if this was possible, however, on the UK version of ebay there is no such area, guess its just another difference between cultures.

Maybe the UK will come upto speed at some point, but for now, the pages are viewable by all.

Might check out the US version though, so thanks Etoile for letting me know!
