"Sell Yourself"

A mixed half dozen recent marketing grads have all applied for a single internship at the hoot ad agency.

The recruiter tells each that as they are all "qualified" on paper, but that the true test is the ability to persuade others, and "sex sells", they must each seduce a stranger. The first one to succeed gets the internship.

It would be illegal for the recruiter or person hiring to suggest that, so would find it unbelievable. My twist would be to raise the stakes...make them all interns at the agency and are tasked to sell the most ads for a permanent position available. They all know each other so know they have to give that little "extra" to sell...so add themselves to the incentives. That way you could have a mixture of guys and girls "selling themselves." It opens the doors to having both female and male perspectives, as well as could even throw in a little first-time bi action!

A friend of mine had an ad agency an all of his workers except a token few were drop-dead gorgeous girls...and it was by purpose as he said the same thing, sex sells. Nothing inappropriate ever happened to my knowledge, but he knew having an attractive 20-something girl offering advertisement versus a guy to a male client had its advantages.

Many internships are already illegal under wage laws, but grads are desperate for work. Higher plausibility than many Lit stories, I think, but nothing wrong with other variations either.

If you really want reality, participant #6 calls the cops, the interviewer is hauled off to jail....

here is my spin. the "boss" is a woman and she enjoys eye candy from both sexes!

maybe she had to "sell herself" to get ahead in her younger days, so thinks turnabout is fair play.

maybe the winner is the one clever enough to seduce her, but she waits til she hears all the other stories before saying so?

Maybe the interviewer worded it in such a way that (s)he can always say "I never meant it that way. If I had known they were doing that, I would have stopped them."
I think there are different directions you can go with this. You can do the 'suggestion' thing making everyone do it because they think it is required. Or you can have one of them figure out using her body means more sales (resulting in others following her example, maybe someone later catches and blackmails her). Or one being a lousy seller but seducing the interviewer.
