How about a story about a woman with a selective memory disorder, she says and dose things that she then forgets completely and wonders why people look at her while walking down the street. It’s not till a friend takes her to see a psychiatrist she finds out what she has done in a memory regression session and is horrified when she sees the video tape of the session were she has acted out all the things she has done over the last week or so.

If any one has an idea along this line of thought I would love to read it for inspirational incite.

Well, that really is a new thought for this board. Well done!

In fact I don't remember ever seeing an erotic story using that twist. Crime stories, yes, but not erotic.

Come on Tiggs this should be just up your street; a chance to show people that you can do difficult themes!

(Edited for a typo or six)

kind of like that movie Momento where the guy has post it's all over him.

Great idea Linnet! I don't see the psychiatrist though. How about just letting her wake up with no memory and she has to piece it all together from the state she was left in and the various items she finds in the room.

Another Twist on Amnesia.

Sounds like a new twist on an idea that's been around for a while. Is "selective memory disorder" a new syndrome, or a variation on the old stand-by: "amnesia"?

The most obvious example is "The Three Faces of Eve" where a woman suffered from Multiple Personality Disorder. Only the story was a fairly dry psychological drama Written in the 1950's, it could only hint at the unsuitable things Eve Black did when she was 'out'.

Less obvious is the film, "Clean Slate" (1994). It starred Dana Carvey as a private eye with a problem: every morning he woke up with his mind a 'blank slate'. Since he was in the middle of a hot investigation, and was developing a romantic relationship with one of the suspects, this was less than convenient. As you can tell from this description, Carvey played the idea for laughs, not for any erotic possibilities.

The most extreme form of this problem occurred in Charles Chaplin's 1940 film "The Great Dictator". In this farce, Chaplin played a Jewish barber, who suffered from amnesia, who awoke believing he was Adenoid Hynkel, Dictator of Tomania.

What I'm trying to point out, is that it will require more than "selective memory disorder" to explain what you want to have happen to your character. Otherwise, she might discover that while she was unconscious, she waxed her legs, or cleaned the kitchen floor.

A change of personality is also required. Perhaps the loss of memory meant the removal of her "learned" inhibitions. Maybe when she forgot her identity, it left her open to the next suggestion she encountered? That, is something you will have to decide, before you begin plotting.

Good luck.

sounds more like....

...multiple personalites. Poor girl has to deal with what her alter-ego has gotten herself into...waking up in a strange apartment with a strange guy...

...or 'returning' to herself in the midst of being pounded by some singles bar pickup.

I did think of doing it that way, but regression is a twist that I like the sound of as I believe it unpredictable and could have after effects for instance after one session she is in the middle of an erotic encounter with her boyfriend when she regresses into a state when she was in a gang bang or something.

A personal fantasy of mine would be the ability to hypnotize someone into doing what I want them to. Then at a key moment, just as they are about to orgasm, wake them from the hypnotic state, and see how they react. I don't know if it would be a decent story idea, but I like wondering what it would be like to take the prissy bitch from work, have her getting a multiple stuffing, then snap her out of it just as she is getting plastered from several guys.

Knew a woman with very bad selective memory disorder. She's called "the Ex"

There are quite a few stories in Mind Control which fit this almost exactly. One set which come immediately to mind are those submitted by Masterhypnotist (no relation).
