Seeking writers: "The Night the Lights Went Out"

Story concept:
  • One night, for unknown reasons, anything and everything that uses or transmits electricity simply stops working.
  • What happens next?
What I'm seeking:
  • 3 or more writers; 6 or more long term characters; and any number of short term and/or expendable characters.
  • Writers who will post for at least one of their characters nearly every day. Really, my main concern is that writers do not hold up the story by not posting for days at a time.
  • To ease fears about the need for frequent posts, there is no minimum post length. If a couple of lines advances the story, that's all you need to write, right?
  • Writers who proofread for spelling, punctuation, and grammar. I'm not after perfection or professional writing, but readers and your fellow writers shouldn't need a translator to understand your posts.
  • Respect! Show your fellow writers kindness and respect. That means not "god moding" their characters; not infringing on a story line they have created; and not doing other things that would cause tension.
I know it sounds like I'm asking for a lot, but isn't this what you would want in a roleplay you were creating? :)

Send me a PM if you have interest or questions. I hope to start there story before Christmas.

Oh, and you can post interest and/or questions here, too, I guess, if you feel others should see them. ;)

I was asked in PM what the "plot" was. There isn't so much an overall plot as there are individual storylines of how this phenomenon affects the characters in their own way.

Today, I'm going to create an OOC thread for several purposes, including but not limited to:
  • Character profiles.
  • A list of results of the blackout which could affect large populations or large areas, such as the meltdown of nuclear reactors.
  • And -- related to the whole "plot" question -- the writers' thoughts on the direction they want to take their characters and/or potential characters who might need characters with whom they can interact. (That's a lot of "characters" in one sentence.)

Bump

We are still on the first day of the RP, so there is still time to join if you wish.

We have 3 writers thus far, writing 12 main characters and about 5 secondary characters. 2 or 3 of the main characters do not have collaborating character and/or could use an additional one. And new characters in new situations are always welcomed, of course.
