The story concept:

  • Global warming has seriously reduced the weight of the ice sheet over the top of an ancient Antarctic super volcano, presenting the possibility that it could explode and send a 500-foot tsunami around the world. (Right out of the TV series, btw.)
  • A scientist with knowledge of the danger releases a warning over the internet, which leads to television/radio interviews, which lead to his being taken into custody by the government for spreading fear amongst the populace.
  • With this information, how would you react?
My thoughts about the story:
  • I'm thinking that this could be a combination of roleplay and storytelling.
  • You don't necessarily have to interactively write with another writer. You could simply tell your character's story as I reveal what's happening across the world and in your locale.
  • I would ask that writers give me somewhat of a heads up of their ideas in case they think that their story might interfere/conflict with the stories of other writers/characters. (You know, if you decide that this accident should blow up Earth from the inside out, that kind of affects everyone else, right?
Posting:
  • There would be no posting minimums regarding length and frequency, with two small exceptions:
    • Please do not post a billion little one liners.
    • Please do not post 10,000-character replies again and again. (Personally, I sometimes have to put my posts up in 2 parts, because they are over 10,000 characters. I only do this occasionally, and they are always intermixed with "normal" length posts.)
  • If you choose to interact with another writer, ensure that the two (or three or more) of you are in sync regarding length and frequency:
    • It isn't going to work if you want to post everyday, and your partner only wants to post twice a week.
    • And if your 8,000 characters are met with 400, well, that kind of sucks.
  • That last part being said, though, there's no reason why you should have to put up 8,000 characters, when only 400 will move the story along.
  • Last but not least, please proofread your replied before posting them. Avery won makes Miss steaks. Eye only ask that you look for and correct them before posting. Please, no lazy or poor writers. Thanks.
Questions?
  • Feel free to post questions here; they act as a bump.
  • Or PM me.

I'm relatively new here, but not new to writing or online roleplay at all. I just find myself with an inspiration and a lack of good writing partners, currenlty.

But this is an interesting:

So I think a character who has been seen as a prepper and a "conspiracy theorist" would be fun. Someone who knew some bad shit was coming and that the government would only seek to provide shelter to those it deemed most valuable to keep society going. Thus, he's prepared himself a shelter/bunker/property where he can sustain a food supply for maybe 10 or so people. It was never his intention to completely rebuild the world, but he could keep a few alive for a few years while people figured it out.

- Yes, that's what i've come here to do.
- I didn't come here not to interact with other writers. I have microsoft word and google docs if I wanted to continue working on some my own stories that I've got in the works. lol
- My prepper idea would be the one i'd have. I think, especially if this is happening in 2025 America, that the lines between people divided would have to come down if there was any chance for survival.

-I don't do one liners.
-I tend to be between five and seven paragraphs, but it also depends on the buildup. I've done 30 page starters before if it's a plot i've been working on and a world I had mostly built but was looking for input from a writer I trust to keep building it. Though the length of that starter was heavily discussed beforehand and i'd been writing with her for over a decade.
- Frequency is important. I'd be available to reply at least 4 night a week (I'm in Central time zone)
- Sending detailed paragraphs and getting a tweet back makes me lose interest fast. I get that.
- I'm, by far, not a lazy or poor writer. Though I haven't posted any work on literotica because A) I just found this place and B) I haven't written any purely erotic fiction. I'm here hoping to meet people who are versed in writing with proper buildup to intimacy as well as the intimacy itself.

I don't have time to read your post above, but I will at my earliest convenience. I just wanted you to know that I saw your post and will get to it. I'm at a class at the moment.
